Why Bet on San Francisco versus Pittsburgh?
Kyle Shannahan made Purdy the starting quarterback over both Trey Lance and Sam Darnold. The reason Shannahan did was because he believes Brock gives the Niners the best chance of winning the Super Bowl.
If Purdy is one-hundred percent healed from the elbow issue he suffered in the 2022 NFC Championship, SF’s offense should be difficult to contain. Pittsburgh has a good defense, but the 49ers boast Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey, two of the top skill players in the league.

Pittsburgh ended the regular season playing excellent football. The Steelers went 3-1 against the spread. But although Pittsburgh will play this game tough, it’s difficult seeing the AFC squad winning this matchup or keeping it closer than a 3 point loss.
San Francisco made it to the NFC Championship while going through three different quarterbacks. This season, Shanahan is sticking with Purdy and playing Darnold if he must.
The confidence in Brock speaks volumes. The 49ers also recently extended Nick Bosa. So SF’s defense is also set. San Francisco wins and covers at -2.5 but, again, this will be close. So if the line goes to 3 consider backing Pittsburgh ATS.
