You have to dig pretty deep to try and find reasons why another driver might rise up and win a race ahead of Verstappen. Norris is in as the 2nd favorite this weekend, well behind the champ, which may come as a surprise given what he has done this season. Dig a little deeper, though, and you will see that Norris is of Belgian descent. Yes, it’s a flimsy reason to wager on a driver, but perhaps he will want to honor his Belgian mother by winning in here home country. More realistic, though, is to take Norris to land on the podium, as he has finished 2nd in each of the last 2 races and appears to be in very decent form.

Hamilton and Perez

These two drivers are very close in terms of odds, so let’s put them together and take a closer look. Hamilton is in at odds of +1225 for the Belgian, Grand Prix, as he looks to win his first race since the 2021 season. That is a huge stretch of time since his last win, and he and Mercedes now look well off the pace. Sergio Perez (+1250) has cooled off dramatically after a strong start to the season and is now very much living in the shadow of his Red Bull Racing teammate.
