It is a bit of a strange weekend in the World of NASCAR that we have ahead of us, as we will see things split in two. While the Cup Series and Xfinity drivers head to Atlanta for their respective races, the Truck Series will be in Knoxville, Ohio for the Corn Belt 150 on Friday night at 9 PM EST. It will be a little different to see a pair of different venues in the same weekend, but it will also be very cool to see the trucks racing on this track for the very first time. With this being the first trip to Knoxville for these drivers, handicapping becomes that much tougher, but the bookies do already have some favorites in mind for Friday night. John H. Nemechek (+550)

No matter what sport you are talking about, it’s never a bad idea to go with the hot hand when it comes time to wager. In the Truck Series, there really isn’t anyone hotter that John Hunter Nemechek right now. He won last weekend and is now on a run that has seen him win 3 of the last 4 races, a run of form that has him sitting atop the driver standings and looking like the favorite to win it all. Overall, Nemechek now has 5 wins on the season, as well as 3 more top 5 finishes from just 13 races. That is a level of consistency and performance that makes it hard to consider betting against him.

Brian Brown (+650)

One thing that we have failed to mention about the Corn Belt 150 to this point is that it is going to be different than what you are used to. By that, we mean that the trucks will be racing over a dirt track, which may mean looking somewhere other than your usual drivers when trying to pick a winner. We do not see NASCAR hit the dirt very often, which makes handicapping tough, but that is why Brian Brown is so high up in the odds at the moment. Brown spends a lot of his time racing on dirt, so you can bet that he is going to be a good deal more comfortable than a lot of the other drivers on Friday night.

Chase Briscoe (+700)

This will only be the 3^rd appearance in the Truck Series for Briscoe this season, as his full attention has been on the Cup Series, where he is currently sitting well off the pace, having managed to land in the top 10 just twice this season. This may well prove to be a welcome distraction for Briscoe, and the fact that he has chosen this specific race tells you that he fancies his chances on the dirt track. He might well be worth a look at this price.

Ben Rhodes (+700)

While we are seeing some drivers in as the favorites because of past performances on dirt tracks, there are others who are there because of how well they have been performing this season. Rhodes is in that latter category, as he is sitting 2^nd overall in the driver standings with a pair of wins already on the season. He has, though cooled off a little of late after jumping out to a huge start, winning each of the first 2 races of the season.
