WRC 2022 Rally Sweden Betting Analysis & Prediction

We have had to wait a bit after the opening race of the 2022 WRC to get to the next event, but it is coming our way this weekend. This time, the drivers will be in Sweden for the second rally of the season. It is much too early in the season to start talking about potential champions, but we did see some surprise performances in the opening race in Monte Carlo. This will be the first time that the WRC has been in Sweden for a while, as it was a location that did not appear on the 2021 schedule. There are some drivers who have a history in Sweden, which you can see by looking at the current odds. Let’s now take a look at some of the favorites for the 2022 Rally Sweden so you can make your bets against their WRC Odds.

2022 Rally Sweden Analysis | WRC Betting

Elfyn Evans (+250)

Evans came into this season as one of the favorites to win the World Championship in 2022, but he did not get off to the best start. After finishing 2nd overall last season, we expected him to come out fast, so it was a surprise to see him finishing 21st in Monte Carlo, picking up just 4 points in the process. The good news is that there is plenty of time for him to recover, which he might just do this weekend in Sweden. He won there in 2020 and has been a consistent performer in this rally. We are not suggesting that this is a must win race, but he does need to pick up some points to start moving up the standings.

Kalle Rovanpera (+275)

The last two seasons in the WRC for Rovanpera have been a pretty decent success, as he has finished top 5 overall in each of those seasons. He is off to a good start in 2022, finishing 3rd in the Monte Carlo Rally and picking up 17 points. 2020 was a breakthrough season for the Finnish driver and he delivered a very good performance in Sweden, finishing 3rd in that race, a vast improvement over his 18th place finish in his prior run there. There is certainly reason to believe that he could deliver a winning performance this weekend.

Ott Tanak (+300)

If you are looking to take a driver to win at very decent odds, I would certainly take a look at Tanak. It was a disappointing start to the season for him, as he was forced to retire in Monte Carlo for the 3rd straight season. He needs to bounce back quickly, and Sweden might well be the place where he makes that happen. He won there in 2019, the year he became the World Champion, and he has been consistently solid in this rally. A very good bet at these odds.

Thierry Neuville (+400)

This is another driver who has a very decent history with Rally Sweden, including picking up the win in the 2018 season. He also has some top 5 and podium finishes in this race. He got off to a decent start this season, too, finishing 6th in Monte Carlo and picking up 11 points. Neuville looks to be a very good bet here, as I like him to be in the hunt all the way to the end.
