New York Yankees Vs Tampa Bay Rays
Tampa Bay dominated the Yankees during the regular season. The Rays beat NYY in 8-of-10. But before jumping on Tampa, we must consider how the Yankees turned the switch in their first playoff game.
Facing a tough Cleveland squad, the Yankees dominated. They put a 12-3 beating on the Tribe in the first game. NYY drove likely AL Cy Young winner Shane Bieber off the mound after 4.2 innings. Then in the second game, they beat Cleveland 10-9.
The Rays outscored the Blue Jays a combined 11-3 in their two first round wins. Think over in this series as both teams bring hot bats to the plate.
Oakland A’s Vs Houston Astros
The A’s beat the Astros in 7-of-10 battles. But 8-of-10 games happened in Oakland. Due to a walk out day and a couple of canceled games because of the pandemic, the A’s got the bulk of the matchup.
This series happens at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles. Oakland does have a technical homefield advantage. Zack Greinke, Houston’s ace, starts Game 1 on Monday. Greinke went 30-10 at Dodgers Stadium when he played for L.A.
If Greinke beats the A’s on Monday, Houston could win this series because Zack gets at least one more start, right?
Dodgers take on Padres and surprise Marlins against Braves in NL Divisional Playoffs
San Diego Padres Vs L.A. Dodgers
NL West rivals San Diego and the Los Angeles Dodgers battle starting on Tuesday. The Dodgers won 6-of-10 during the season. Los Angeles should have no trouble getting by their rivals in this series.
Los Angeles starts Walker Buehler and Clayton Kershaw in the first couple of games. Cleveland has not revealed who will start Game 1. Mike Cleavinger, their ace, may not play. That gives the Dodgers a big advantage.
Atlanta Braves Vs Miami Marlins
Braves versus Marlins could be the most competitive divisional playoff series this season. The Braves have a talented left-hander in Max Fried. The Marlins counter with 25-year-old Sandy Alcantara.
If Alcantara gets the start on Tuesday, and Don Mattingly hasn’t said who he will send to the mound, give the Marlins a shot to take Game 1. If they can beat Fried, Miami could win this series and head to the NLCS. Crazy to think that the Marlins are two series away from the World Series after starting the season a +150000 underdog.
