With more than half of the MLB betting season now in the books, the divisions are starting to really take shape, with most of them going as expected. The Dodgers were thought to be one of the favorites in the NL, thanks in large part to the amount of money they are paying out in salaries. They are holding up their end of the bargain in the West, while the Nationals are having to fight off the Mets in the East. The Dodgers and Mets are in the midst of a 4-game series, with game 3 set for Saturday night in New York.
A Quick Look at the LA Dodgers vs NY Mets Game Preview and MLB OddsDate: Saturday, July 25th, 2015Time: 7:05PMVenue: Citi Field, Flushing, New YorkOpening MLB Odds: LA Dodgers -169If truth be told, the Dodgers (55-42) might be in a little spot of bother where it not for the performance of their starting rotation. Kershaw and Zack Greinke have been totally dominant, and have helped the Dodgers to continue winning despite the fact that they are not really lighting things up offensively. LA got the second half off to a nice start with a series win over the Nationals, but they followed that up with a sub-par performance in a series loss to the Atlanta Braves. They did manage to win the opening game of this series, which has put them a game over .500 on their current 10-game road trip. That has to be considered a little bit of a victory, as the Dodgers are currently 3 games under .500 on the road this season. As of yet, there has been no announcement as to who will start for the Dodgers on Saturday. The Mets (49-47) have some serious offensive problems of their own, yet they are still just 3 games back of the Washington Nationals in the NL East. The Mets have lost the first two series of the second half, although in fairness, those losses came against a pair of very good teams in the form of the St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals. They will be hoping to turn things around in this series at home, as they have been very good at Citi Field this year, posting a 32-15 record to this point in the season. It will be Matt Harvey (8-7, 3.19 ERA) who will get the start for the Mets on Saturday. Harvey, like the Mets, has struggled with consistency all season long.
