Updated 2018 MLB World Series Odds – February 15th Edition

Written by on February 15, 2018

Spring training is almost upon us, with pitchers and catchers reporting to their teams earlier this week. While we are still about a month and a half away from opening day, we now know enough about the rosters of each team to start thinking about who might be the favorite at the MLB Odds to go all the way to the World Series. It is, of course, way too early to start making seriously bold predictions, as you never really know how injuries, player slumps, and a host of other issues might affect every team in the league as the season progresses. We know who the bookies like, though, so let’s take a look at the latest 2018 World Series odds.

2018 MLB World Series Odds Favorites

Houston Astros

  • World Series Odds to Win: +450
The defending World Series champions will, rather unsurprisingly, start the new season as the favorites to win it all again. The Astros were nothing short of brilliant last year, winning 101 games in the regular season before winning the World Series. They might be even better this season, as their younger players will now have a year of experience under their belt, and this team may also be in possession of the deepest pitching staff in the league.

New York Yankees

  • World Series Odds to Win: +450
The Yankees were surprisingly good last season, winning 91 games in the regular season and making a playoff appearance. They are looking to build on that success by adding some serious talent to the fold. The addition of Giancarlo Stanton is going to take a lot of pressure off of Aaron Judge this season, allowing the young man to once again swing for the fences. The Yankees have some real start power and need to be considered among the favorites to win the World Series.

L.A. Dodgers

  • World Series Odds to Win: +500
Despite winning 104 games last season, the Dodgers spent much of the offseason shipping more players out than in, although this is still a very talented team that should be favorites to win the NL. That said, a lot may well be riding on the health of Clayton Kershaw’s back. This is a group of players that are not likely to experience much of a hangover after losing in the World Series last year, and they will likely be right back down to business from day one.

Cleveland Indians

  • World Series Odds to Win: +600
The Indians are a team that will be heading into this season with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. After all, they won 102 games in the regular season last year but failed to make it beyond the ALDS, which was a surprise to most. Indians are among the 2018 World Series Odds favorites. The Central Division is one of the weakest in the league, so the Indians should have no problem winning it and getting back into the postseason. This team is stacked from top to bottom, so a lot to like here.

Chicago Cubs

  • World Series Odds to Win: +750
It’s easy to forget that this team won a World Series back in 2016 with a relatively young squad, the majority of whom are still in the fold. They had an issue finding their form in the first half of last season before finally putting it all together in the second half, although they didn’t make any noise in the postseason. The biggest changes on this team have been made in the pitching rotation, but the new group is still more than good enough to make the Cubs a serious challenger again this coming season.
