While the Cup and Truck Series are already into the playoffs, the Xfinity Series still has a couple of more races to come before we see the first cut. When those two races are complete, we will be left with 12 drivers in with a shot at ending the season as champion. There are a few who know that they are already safe, but the goal is still to rack up points and stay as high in the driver standings as possible, or at least high enough to survive each cut. The first of the final two regular season races is the Kansas Lottery 300, which will take place on the Kansas Speedway at 3 PM EST this coming Saturday. We can expect some serious excitement as the drivers jockey for those playoff spots, so let’s take a look at some potential NASCAR Xfinity Series Betting favorites for the race.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Betting Preview for the 2022 Kansas Lottery 300 Race
Ty Gibbs
As we wait to see who will and won’t make the cut, we also need to talk about who will end up being the regular season champion. Right now, it’s tight at the top, with Ty Gibbs very much in the picture. He certainly is deserving of his current lofty position, as he has already managed 5 wins on the season. I would have him as my favorite to win this coming weekend, as it was Gibbs who came out on top in a playoff race in Kansas last season, although he was not part of the postseason picture back then. It’s a different story in 2022, but perhaps the same result?
Noah Gragson
Last season, Gragson made it all the way to the final four and a shot at ending the season as champion, but he came up short and had to settle for 3rd overall. He came good in the second half of last season, but this year, he has delivered the goods on a more consistent basis, racking up 3 wins on the season, his total from all of 2021, already. Gragson is a lock to be in the playoffs, but he would like to get some momentum going, which might be easier said than done given that he has never really performed well in Kansas.
AJ Allmendinger
You don’t necessarily need to win every week to be considered in great form in the Xfinity Series. The perfect example of that is Allmendinger, who comes into this race having been on the podium in each of the last 3. It’s not that surprising, as Allmendinger has been great since making the full-time switch to this series, which he came incredibly close to winning at his first attempt last season. His experience is going to help him coming down the stretch, and hid 3rd place finish in Kansas last season suggests he will be a favorite on Saturday.
Justin Allgaier
Will this be the year when Allgaier finally makes the breakthrough and ends it as the Xfinity Series champion? Past efforts suggest that he might come up a little short again, which he has made a habit of doing, but you do get the sense that 2022 might just prove to be his year. He has been good, although not quite great, in previous runs at Kansas, so he has to be considered when making your winning pick.
