Sharks vs Golden Knights 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs Lines & Game 4 Analysis

There is no such thing as an easy playoff series to predict, and you need only look at the current state of play in the NHL postseason to see that we are talking the truth. Series that we expected to be longer or more one-sided are heading in the opposite directions, with the #1 seeds in both conferences currently in trouble in their respective series. There are also a few that are as tight as we expected, which is often what you get when you have two teams from the same division going head to head in the playoffs.

We have a couple of those types of series going on in the opening round, with the San Jose Sharks and the Vegas Golden Knights of the Pacific Division about to head into Game 4 of their series. It is last year’s Stanley Cup runner-up, the Vegas Golden Knights, who have the 2-1 series edge here, but this still feels like a series that has a long way to go. The Golden Knights will try to build on that lead on home ice on Tuesday night, coming into this one favored by 1 ½, with the O/U set at 6 ½.

Why bet on the San Jose Sharks?

The San Jose Sharks made the best start possible to this series, running out comfortable 5-2 winners in Game 1, but it has been all downhill from there. If truth be told, the Sharks were one of the teams I was concerned about heading into the postseason, as they were not particularly good coming down the home stretch.

They were the first to blink in their showdown with the Calgary Flames for the Pacific Division crown, which is never a good look with the pressure of the playoffs right around the corner. With 11 goals in the 3 games against Vegas, the Sharks have proven that they can score, but the defense has also conceded 11 in the 2 defeats. The Sharks are now just 2-6 SU in their last 8 visits to Sin City.

Why bet on the Vegas Golden Knights?

The Vegas Golden Knights are in good shape in this series with a 2-1 lead, but that can all change if they don’t hold serve on home ice. If the Golden Knights lose this one, they will undo some of their hard work and allow the Sharks to steal back home-ice advantage. You do have to fancy their chances to get the win that would put them on the brink of the second round, though, as they were a very impressive 24-12-5 at home this season. Sharks vs Golden Knights Game 4 should be a close one.

Let’s not also forget that by making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final last season, they are a team that has already proven that they know how to kill off an opponent. Each of the last 5 games between these two have gone OVER the goal total.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction for Sharks vs Golden Knights

We have seen a lot of offense through the opening three games of this series, which is a trend that I think we will see carry over into Game 4. I am on the OVER as my main bet here, but I also like Vegas to get the win.

Score: San Jose Sharks 3 – Vegas Golden Knights 5
