Top NBA Games & Picks Of The Weekend (Feb. 3rd – 5th)

Written by on February 2, 2017

The Super Bowl may well be dominating the sports headlines this weekend, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the only game in town. There is a full slate of NBA betting games on tap over the weekend, and that there is an opportunity to win some extra money to play on all those delicious prop bets that are available for SB51 in Houston. I’m going to quickly preview some of the best-looking NBA match-ups of the weekend, and am also going to make picks for each of those games.

Top NBA Games & Picks Of The Weekend (Feb. 3rd – 5th)

Chicago Bulls at Houston Rockets – Friday

It has been a fantastic rebound season for a Rockets team that now finds themselves firmly planted in the number 3 spot in the Western Conference. They have been particularly dominant at home, going 18-5 so far, but will have a tough test when the Chicago Bulls come to town on Friday. The Chicago Bulls are laboring a little in the Eastern Conference, but seem to be on the upswing with back to back wins. I expect this to be a fun game to watch, and I like the Rockets to win by 6.

Memphis Grizzlies at Oklahoma City Thunder – Friday

Being in the 7 and 8 seeds in the West is no place to be, as that will likely mean a first round meeting with either the San Antonio Spurs or Golden State Warriors. The Thunder are in the #7 spot right now, but are just a game and a half back of the Grizzlies in 6th. There is still a lot of basketball to be played before the end of the regular season, but you can bet that the Thunder would not relish the idea of that gap getting any bigger. Close one here, but Thunder by 2.

Milwaukee Bucks at Phoenix Suns – Saturday

Admittedly not the most glamorous match-up on the NBA calendar this weekend, but one that has major playoff implications for the Bucks. Milwaukee are hanging around in the Eastern Conference, and are just a game back of the final playoff spot, and these are the types of games they need to win if they are to get on the right side of the line. Milwaukee has struggled badly on the road this season, so this is by no means a slam dunk versus a poor Phoenix side. That said, I like them to get the win here, albeit by the slimmest of margins.

LA Clippers at Boston Celtics – Sunday

Only 3 games on the schedule for Super Bowl Sunday, but one of them is a great one. The Celtics have hauled themselves into second place in the Eastern Conference, and they are now hot on the heels of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Clippers are currently 4th in the West, and have a winning road record this season, making them a very tough opponent for the Celtics. This should be a nice warm-up prior to the Super Bowl, and I like the Celtics to get the win by 4.
