With just a month or so left of the college basketball regular season, everyone is preparing for “March Madness. With the conference tournaments starting in early March, teams are fighting to get into the field of 68. Let’s take a look at the latest odds to win the NCAA Basketball Championship. We’ll also give you a favorite, smart, and longshot bet to win the title.
Updated College Basketball Title Odds
Gonzaga +600
The Gonzaga Bulldogs have the lowest odds to cut down the nets this season. Mark Few has a very talented group again this season, led by Player of the Year candidate Drew Timme. Timme along with freshman phenom Chet Holmgren, form one of, if not the best frontcourt in the country. We’ll see if this Gonzaga team can withstand the defensive pressure that cost them in last year’s National Championship game.
Duke +1000
The Blue Devils have one of the most talented rosters in college basketball. Coach K has numerous five-star players seeing significant court time. Duke also will be the sentimental favorite, as this will be Coach K’s last season on the bench.
Purdue Boilermakers +1000 (Favorite Bet)
Matt Painter may be the best “X’s & O’s” coach in the country. Painter runs some of the best sets, and always has his team in a position to succeed. Painter also has a talented roster. Jaden Ivey has shown that he’s one of the most gifted players in the country. Ivey along with 7’4” Zach Edey have led the Boilermakers to one of the top spots in the polls.
Baylor Bears +1000
While maybe not as talented as last year’s National Title team, Scott Drew has his Baylor Bears in a position to win another title. This squad is very athletic and can compete with anyone. They’ll be a force on the defensive side of the ball when it comes to tournament time.
Auburn Tigers +1200
The oddsmakers still aren’t buying into the Auburn Tigers as much as many think they should. Bruce Pearl has his Tigers sitting at the top of the rankings. Pearl’s squad is led by Jabari Smith Jr., who is one of the most dynamic players in college basketball. Every test thrown their way thus far, they have passed. We’ll see if they can make it to the Final Four.
Kentucky Wildcats +1500
Much like the Duke Blue Devils, John Calipari has a roster loaded with five-star talent. The Kentucky Wildcats just went to Kansas last Saturday and destroyed the Jayhawks. Not many non-conference teams win at Phog Allen Fieldhouse, so this was a big accomplishment. We’ll see if they can win on the road in March when it really counts.
Villanova Wildcats +1800 (Smart Bet)
Any time that Jay Wright is coaching a team, that team has a great shot at winning. Wright is one of the best coaches in the game, and his track record speaks for itself. Although his Villanova Wildcats aren’t blessed with much height or depth, this team is still talented enough to cut down the nets. This team can shoot the three-ball well, and knows how to guard. This will be a squad that nobody wants to meet up with in the NCAA Tournament.
Miami Hurricanes +10000 (Longshot Bet)
Jim Larranaga has his Miami Hurricanes sitting at the top of the ACC. They’ve beaten Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium, and they have shown that they can win the big one. We’ll see if they can win when it really counts, but we like what we’ve seen from them thus far.
