Saints and Brees dominate Brady and Bucs

NBC thought they had the perfect Sunday Night Football game. On one side was Drew Brees, holder of five NFL records, and the New Orleans Saints. On the other side was the greatest quarterback of all time, a man named Tom Brady.

What could go wrong? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That’s what could go wrong. Tom Brady played the worst game of his career when throwing three interceptions and no touchdown passes and the New Orleans Saints dominated Tampa 38-3.

The biggest problem for Tampa was stopping the Payton-Brees offensive machine. Four of the Saints five victories before Sunday night had happened with wide receiver Michael Thomas injured. Thomas was back and that helped Brees get into a rhythm.

When Brees is in a rhythm, the Saints are close to impossible to stop. Not only do they have the hall of fame quarterback, but they’ve got what many consider to be the best running back, Alvin Kamara, and the best wide receiver, Michael Thomas. The offensive line is considered a top 5 unit.

Yes, Brady and the Bucs helped the defense look good, but New Orleans’ D does have enough talent to contain great offenses and it will get better after Kwon Alexander, whom the Saints acquired from San Francisco, is healthy enough to start.

As for the Bucs, don’t worry Tampa Bay fans. You should make the playoffs if Tom’s performance is an aberration. Then again, when a quarterback’s skills decline, think Peyton Manning with the Denver Broncos in his final season, they decline at a moment’s notice. If that’s the case for Brady, we’ll know as early as this Sunday when Tampa takes on an underrated Carolina defense.

Steelers rally for win over the Dallas Cowboys, Tua shows Miami fans he’s worthy

The Pittsburgh Steelers faced one of the worst teams in football on Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys, and had to clawed back from a deficit to win 24-19. Although some will say the struggle against Dallas proves that Pittsburgh isn’t as good as their undefeated record indicates, many more will point to the fact that the Steelers went into the game after road wins versus the Titans and Ravens.

The Steelers played a let down game and still won. That’s big news if you’re a Steelers fan. It shows that Pittsburgh can and will fight, which should make every Steel Town fan sleep well at night.

Tua Tagovailoa proved that when the Miami Dolphins said they’re not auditioning Tua to trade him to another team, they meant it. Tagovailoa didn’t play well in his first NFL start last Sunday. The team upset the Rams, but Tua didn’t do much on the football field. We noted, though, that the former Alabama star didn’t throw an interception against one of the best defenses in the NFL, and that was more important than his completion percentage or yards thrown.

On Sunday, Tua again played against a good defense, and again, he didn’t throw a pick. This time, though, Tua led the Dolphins to a win. He threw for 248 yards and a couple of touchdowns. He also rushed 7 times for 35 yards.

The Dolphins are 5-3. They’re 3-1 in away games this season. Miami has a legit shot to make it to the playoffs. If the defense continues to gel and Tua continues to play well, who knows? Maybe, the Fins are the underdog team to back to win the Super Bowl.

Rams host Seahawks in NFL Week 10’s top matchup

Buffalo beat Seattle 44-34 to drop the Seahawks to 6-2 on the season. Arizona is 5-3 and the Rams are 5-3 in the NFC West, which means Seattle must beat Los Angeles to maintain a one-game lead over the Rams.

That makes Seattle versus Los Angeles the most important game in NFL Week 10. Also circle Indianapolis at Tennessee on Thursday night and Buffalo at Arizona. Both those games could determine who leads divisions heading into Week 11.

Have a great week!
