Cowboys New Look in Back Field

After several seasons of Ezekiel Elliott getting a load of carries for the Dallas Cowboys, they will have a new look. Tony Pollard will be first in line, but do not be surprised to see Rico Dowdie and Deuce Vaughn also get chances. Despite being the backup running back a season ago, Pollard still finished the season with more than 1,000 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns.

Dak Prescott returns under center. Prescott will see a little heat from behind him as the Cowboys signed Trey Lance as backup. Prescott threw for 23 touchdowns a season ago, but the 15 touchdowns did not set well with Dallas fans. Prescott has vowed to lower that number in 2023.

CeeDee Lamb is still a great weapon to have in the receiving core. Lamb wrapped up 2022 as one of the top receivers in the league. He caught 107 passes for nearly 1,400 yards and nine touchdowns.

Giants Running it Back in 2023

There was talk the New York Giants would not have SaQuan Barkley as they embarked on their 2023 journey. But, they were able to agree with the former Penn State star, and he will be leading their backfield.

Barkley rushed for 1,312 yards a season ago with ten touchdowns. Backing up Barkley will be Matt Brieda and Gary Brightwell.

Daniel Jones is still in as the starting quarterback. Jones took a step forward a season ago and was able to throw the ball more effectively and also use his legs. Jones passes for 3,205 yards and rushed for an additional 708. His 15 touchdowns passing went along with his seven via the passing game.

Jones will see Isaiah Hodgins, Darius Slayton, and Parris Campbell as his top targets to start the season. The Giants drafted Jalin Hyatt, and will be an interesting one to watch all season. Last year, Slayton led the team with 724 yards.
