Okay NFL betting fanatics, with the Big Dance now less than a week away, it’s time for your annual look at who the NFL experts over at ESPN like to bring home the bacon at Super Bowl LIV showdown. In addition to the half-dozen ESPN experts’ predictions, you’re also going to get five more fun-filled predictions from a handful of players that performed in this past weekend’s annual Pro Bowl affair in sunny Hawaii.

Super Bowl LIV gets underway on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020 at 6:30 PM ET, live from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. This year’s Big Dance marks the 11th time South Florida has hosted a Super Bowl, with the last one coming in 2010 (Super Bowl XLIV) at Hard Rock, then known as Sun Life Stadium. Okay, with that said, let’s get down to business.

ESPN Super Bowl LIV Expert Predictions

Matt Bowen, NFL analyst:

Chiefs. Mahomes is a game-changer. And his ability to make second-reaction plays is the reason I’m picking the Chiefs over the Niners.

Mike Clay, fantasy writer:

49ers. The best player in the game will be under center for the Chiefs, but the 49ers have the better offensive line and defense, which gives them the slight edge.

Jeremy Fowler, national NFL writer:

49ers. They just waxed two pretty good NFC playoff teams, and the league’s best defensive front will challenge Mahomes.

Dan Graziano, national NFL writer:

Chiefs. The Niners’ defense is scary good, but there’s no player, group or force in the NFL right now more dangerous than Mahomes. He won’t be stopped.

Kevin Seifert, national NFL writer:

49ers. They have been remarkably consistent all season, and there’s no reason to think they’ll change now.

Seth Wickersham, senior writer:

49ers. They will come out throwing, and Garoppolo will win MVP.

Field Yates, NFL analyst: 49ers. There is really only one shot to slow down Mahomes: pressure him. Even that isn’t always enough. But it’s your best shot, and it happens to be a massive strength of the 49ers.

Now, let’s get to the five Pro Bowlers’ Super Bowl 54 Predictions.

NFL Pro Bowler Super Bowl Picks

Shaquil Barrett – Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker

“The Niners — but a really, really, really close game. It’s just so hard, like it’s hard, but I just think that [the 49ers’] defense is gonna limit [the Chiefs’] offense a little bit, and then if they do enough difficult stuff on offense of not being straightforward, then they’ll get enough points.”

Von Miller – Denver Broncos linebacker

“49ers. I can’t go with the Chiefs. I can’t go with the Chiefs.”

Marshal Yanda – Ravens offensive lineman

“I think it’s going to be a really good game, but if you make me choose I’m going to go with the Chiefs. I think the Chiefs had a really good defensive performance against Derrick Henry so I think if they can keep that up vs. San Francisco’s running game, that’ll be good, and then I just think that Mahomes is going to make his plays. So I’m going with Kansas City.”

Darius Leonard – Indianapolis Colts linebacker

“It’s hard. I’m going to stay with the AFC, though. I say Kansas City might get it because their offense is pretty nasty. They’ve got a lot of weapons there. They’ve got a lot of speed there. One of my former teammates from South Carolina State [defensive back Alex Brown] is playing there so hopefully he can get it his rookie year.

Joe Haden – Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback

“I’m going to go with Kansas City. I’m just a Patrick Mahomes fan. I really love him. That offense is crazy and then their defense getting Tyrann Mathieu I think really, really helped them out. But I think their offense is just very, very powerful.”

In the end, four of ESPN’s expert are going with the under 49ers to pull off the upset in Super Bowl 54 while three of the five Pro Bowl players predictions are for Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs to take care of business. Of 11 overall predictions, six picks predict Frisco for the upset while five like Kansas City to come out on top.
