Why should you bet on the Atlanta Falcons in their regular season opener? Well, there are several good reasons. First and foremost, Atlanta has a bunch of talent on offense, starting with quarterback Matt Ryan, wide receiver Julio Jones and running backs, Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. Not only that, but the Falcons now have a very good defense that finished inside the top 10 in points allowed. Atlanta also went 5-3 on the road last season, so there’s that as well – and oh, they nearly beat the Eagles in Philly in the playoffs before falling 15-10 as a 2.5-point road dog. Last but not least, I’m expecting the Falcons to be a lot better offensively in 2018 than they were a year ago as they enter their second year under offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian.

Why should you bet on the Philadelphia Eagles in their regular season opener? There are a bunch of good reasons. First, the Eagles are elite on both sides of the ball. Philly now has a ton of talent on offense and defense, plus they’re still quite hungry. Philly finished second in scoring and they have one of the game’s best young signal-caller in Carson Wentz, not to mention a veteran backup in Nick Foles that could clearly start for several teams. The Birds went 7-1 at home during the 2017 regular season, so they’re tough to beat in the City of Brotherly Love.
