Heading into the season, one of the most intriguing NFL Divisions is the NFC North. Will current NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers play for the Green Bay Packers? Can Kirk Cousins finally live up to the massive contract the Vikings bestowed on him a few years ago? How will Andy Dalton perform with the Bears? And, most importantly, which teams in the NFC North offer the best odds to take the division? Let’s that out so you can plan your bets against their NFC North Division odds.
2021 NFL Betting Odds & Picks for the NFC North Division
2021 NFL Season
- When: Sep. 9, 2021 – Jan. 9, 2022
Green Bay Packers -120
Two questions surround the Packers. First, will Aaron Rodgers play? Second, does Green Bay care if Aaron Rodgers plays? Most NFL fans have, understandably, concentrated on the first question.
Rodgers is the reigning MVP, a Super Bowl winning quarterback, and a hall of fame player. But he’s also 37-years-old and turns 38 on December 2. The feeling here is that Green Bay didn’t draft Jordan Love a couple of years back to sit him on the bench.
So, who knows? Maybe, the Packers don’t care so much about whether Rodgers plays for them this season or not. In any case, the -120 odds make the Pack an underlay.
Whether Rodgers plays for Green Bay or not, the Packers have the fourth toughest schedule in the league. The Packers must play the Saints, Chiefs, Ravens, 49ers, and Cardinals on the road this season. Also, their top skill player, Davante Adams, may be looking to change addresses.
Packers Offer Fair Odds: No
Minnesota Vikings +200
Like the Packers, the Vikings got saddled with a ridiculously tough schedule. But Minnesota’s schedule appears more manageable than Green Bay’s.
But even though the Vikings have a more manageable schedule, it doesn’t mean the odds are fair. Minnesota must prove they’re better than Chicago and they didn’t last season, failing to make the playoffs while the Bears grabbed a wildcard.
Too many questions surrounds Minnesota to back them at +200.
Vikings Offer Fair Odds: No
Chicago Bears +325
The Chicago Bears secured a playoff spot last season. This season, the team upgraded the most important position in football, quarterback. Nobody will ever say Mitch Trubisky is a better signal-caller than Andy Dalton.
Playing with Dallas, Dalton posted excellent numbers in 2020, completing 64.9% of his passes, and throwing for 2,169 yards and 14 touchdowns from 333 attempts. In Chicago, Dalton has a top WR1 in Allen Robinson.
If David Montgomery continues excelling at running back, the offense should be decent enough to support Chicago’s very good defense. The odds on Da Bears are fair.
Bears Offer Fair Odds: Yes
Detroit Lions +1600
How can a +1600 choice not offer overlay odds to beat 3 other teams to win a division title? When the team is named the Detroit Lions, that’s how.
The Lions moved backward this season. They call it a rebuild, but it’s definitely a backward move. Jared Goff won’t have more success in Motor City throwing to Tyrell Williams, Breshad Perriman, and Quintez Cephus than he did in Hollywood throwing to Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp.
More importantly, the Lions’ defense remains a mess. Expect at least +2000 before biting on Detroit.
Lions Offer Fair Odds: No
