Week 5 Rundown Top NHL Betting Matchups of the Week

Week 5 Rundown: Top NHL Betting Matchups of the Week

Written by on November 7, 2022

While the NHL schedule doesn’t officially operate on a week or round basis until the playoffs, we’re going to look at the upcoming matchups for our week five of the NHL calendar.

We’ll work through each day, finding you the best games to watch and a potential bet for every day the puck drops on an NHL game.

NHL Season 2022 Games of the Week 5

Monday, November 7

Monday night’s schedule features three east meets west matchups.

We recommended a couple of Calgary Flames games to watch and bet on last week, which we apologize for. We’ll stay away from the Flames vs. Islanders, but we’re tuning in and watching the Washington Capitals take on Connor McDavid.

The rest of the Oilers will be there, but we all know we’re really tuning into Edmonton Oilers‘ games to watch, potentially, the most talented player ever.

We’re taking the Boston Bruins on the moneyline and potentially against the spread against the St. Louis Blues. The Bruins will be the favorite, and the odds might not be the best, but the Bruins are the significantly better team to start the season.

Tuesday, November 8

There are eleven games on Wednesday’s schedule, and immediately, we need to watch Connor McDavid again, this time against the Tampa Bay Lightning. McDavid and Leon Draisaitl versus Andrei Vasilevskiy? We’re in.

Our betting pick is to take the Ottawa Senators on the moneyline against the Vancouver Canucks. This game might be a moneyline/spread parlay option. We also like the Detroit Red Wings to win and cover the spread against the Montreal Canadiens.

Aside from the McDavid show, the battle of New York between the Rangers and Islanders has the potential to be fun, while Vegas versus Toronto might end up being a game to watch and bet on.

Wednesday, November 9

The NHL has a four-game schedule on tap for Wednesday. We’re definitely taking the Carolina Hurricanes to defeat the Matthew Tkachuk-less Florida Panthers on the moneyline.

Pittsburgh versus Washington might have some interesting lines to investigate before the puck drop. The Penguins vs. Capitals is likely our game of the night to watch as well.

Thursday, November 10

There are ten games on Thursday’s schedule, and we like the Colorado Avalanche to return from Finland and continue their winning ways against the Nashville Predators.

We’ll take the Avs on the moneyline. We’re also going to take the Arizona Coyotes to at least cover the spread and maybe even win against the New York Islanders for no reason other than to give the Yotes some shine.

Ottawa versus New Jersey and a Detroit versus New York Rangers rematch are fighting for your attention, alongside Vegas versus Buffalo, Edmonton versus Carolina, and Calgary versus Boston.

That’s a lot of potentially excellent hockey games fighting for your attention with tough betting decisions to make.

Friday, November 11

Friday has a four-game schedule on Remembrance Day (Canada) and Veterans Day (United States), featuring two eastern conference matchups which look interesting on paper: Pittsburgh versus Toronto and Tampa Bay versus Washington.

Our Betting picks are in the latter half of Friday evening’s schedule. We’ll take the Seattle Kraken to likely upset the Minnesota Wild while taking the Dallas Stars on the moneyline over the San Jose Sharks.

Saturday, November 12

Twenty-six of the NHL’s 32 teams are playing on Saturday. A few games on the schedule stand out as potential must-see, including Boston versus Buffalo, Carolina versus Colorado, and Edmonton versus Florida.

Among the picks on our betting ticket will be the New Jersey Devils to cover the spread against the Arizona Coyotes and the Detroit Red Wings on the moneyline against the Los Angeles Kings.

Sunday, November 13

Week five of the NHL season closes with a six-game schedule. We’ll take the Boston Bruins on the moneyline against the Vancouver Canucks, Minnesota on the moneyline against the San Jose Sharks, or the Seattle Kraken to cover the spread against the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets versus the Kraken is among the must-see matchups on Sunday, along with Washington versus Tampa Bay, but the game we are most excited for is the Dallas Stars traveling to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers.
