Soccer Betting Odds & Top Picks of the Week – December 11th Edition

Written by on December 11, 2017

One of the great things about wagering on soccer is that there are countless games to choose from every single day of the year. There is always a big game going on somewhere, and it can be a little daunting to try and pick out which games to wager on, so I like to focus on specific leagues, with the major European competitions the ones that tend to draw my attention. There are a lot of big games on tap in those leagues over the next few days, so let’s see if we can pick some winners out of the bunch based on the latest Soccer betting odds, starting with a big game in the Serie A in Italy on Monday.

Soccer Betting Odds & Top Picks of the Week – December 11th Edition

Lazio vs. Torino

  • When: Monday, December 11, 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
  • Soccer Betting Odds: Lazio -1
There is a tight battle going on atop Serie A right now, with no less than 5 teams all laying claim on the lead. Lazio is currently sitting in 5th spot, 8 points back of leaders Inter Milan, although they do have a pair of games in hand. If Lazio can win those two games, the lead will be down to just 2 points. They get to try and win the first of those on Monday afternoon with a home game against Torino, who are currently sitting mid-table. You need to go all the way back to 2013 to find the last time that Torino beat Lazio in Serie A play. There were 8 games played between then and today, with Lazio winning 4 and the other 4 ending in ties. Look for Lazio to win this one comfortably. Score Prediction: Lazio 3 – Torino 1

Huddersfield vs. Chelsea

  • When: Tuesday, December 12, 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Stamford Bridge
  • Soccer Betting Odds: Chelsea -1.5
We have yet to reach the midway point of the Premier League season, but the general consensus is that it’s now Manchester City’s title to lose. Chelsea went down to a stunning 1-0 defeat to West Ham on the weekend, and are now 14 points back of the leaders. They go on the road on Tuesday night with a tricky game against EPL newcomers Huddersfield Town, who have already beaten Manchester United in their own building this season. This will be the first meeting between these two since 2008 when they met in the FA Cup, and you have to feel that Chelsea is going to bounce back in a big way after a disappointing weekend. Score Prediction: Huddersfield 0 – Chelsea 3

West Ham United vs. Arsenal

  • When: Wednesday, December 13, 3:00 p.m.
  • Where: London Olympic Stadium
  • Soccer Betting Odds: Arsenal -1
The Hammers are sure to still be on a high after beating their London rivals Chelsea on the weekend, and they now have the chance to deliver a London double when they face Arsenal on Wednesday afternoon. The Gunners are on a poor run of form right now and are coming off a disappointing 1-1 tie against Southampton over the weekend, where their blushes were spared by a late equalizer from Olivier Giroud. Arsenal is slight favorite at the Soccer Betting Odds for this week. The title is almost certainly out of reach for Arsenal, and they are currently also sitting outside the top 4, which would mean missing out on the Champions League next season. Arsenal won both meetings against West Ham last season by a combined 8-1 score, and I think they win again here. Score Prediction: West Ham 1 – Arsenal 2

Bayern Munich vs. FC Cologne

  • When: Wednesday, December 13, 2:30 p.m.
  • Where: Allianz Arena
  • Soccer Betting Odds: Bayern Munich -2.5
Bayern Munich is beginning to run away with the Bundesliga, and have a chance to keep their winning run going with a home tilt against FC Cologne on Wednesday. The visitors are in the basement right now and have only managed 3 points from 15 games, a stretch in which they have only found the back of the net 9 times. Bayern Munich is 7-0-1 versus Cologne in their last 8 meetings, and should comfortably extend that streak on Wednesday. Score Prediction: Bayern Munich 4 – Cologne 1
