Top 2021 MLS Matches to Bet On: Houston Dynamo vs FC Dallas Rivalry Game

Major League Soccer gave us plenty of compelling action on Tuesday and Wednesday night, although that merely be the appetizer for the games this weekend. While it’ll be a quick turnaround for most teams, let’s check out some of the top games that are on tap for the weekend ahead so you can place your bets against their MLS odds.

Top MLS Games to Watch and Wager On the Weekend (Sep 18th – 19th)

Atlanta United FC vs DC United

Both of these teams are hoping to hang onto their playoff spot in a match that has rather tight lines. Atlanta is the favorite at home with a -101 moneyline, although DC United isn’t far behind at +255 with a draw set at +250. Atlanta has now won six of its last seven games, including a win over DC last month. The Five Stripes have climbed all the way up to a seventh-place, which is the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

But with a win, they can climb as high as fourth. They’ve also been dominant in their last two matches, winning by a combined score of 7-0. To be fair, DC has been in good form since losing to Atlanta last month, collecting two wins and a draw while outscoring opponents 7-2.

Houston Dynamo FC vs FC Dallas

Not only is this a rivalry game, but both teams are desperate to collect three points as they chase a playoff spot. Houston is a slight favorite at home with a +109 moneyline, while Dallas has a +225 moneyline. Dallas managed a 3-3 draw midweek against NYCFC but has just one win in seven matches. The good news is that Ricardo Pepi is back from international duty while Jader Obrian provided two goals in the team’s draw with NYCFC.

Of course, while Dallas is six games out of a playoff spot, Houston is 10 points out. The Dynamo has taken points from three of their last five matches, although they need to find three points against their Lone Star State rivals on Saturday night.

Real Salt Lake vs Seattle Sounders FC

The second-place Sounders hit the road this weekend in hopes of jumping to the top of the Western Conference standings, whereas Salt Lake needs to keep collecting points to retain its playoff position. In fact, Salt Lake is a slight favorite at +127 compared to Seattle’s moneyline of +205 and a draw at +235. It’s been a wild ride lately for Real, which is one of the best offensive teams in MLS but struggles on the defensive end.

They beat San Jose 4-3 on Wednesday but only after a 3-2 loss to LAFC. It must be noted that Salt Lake’s last four matches have seen at least five goals. On the contrary, the Sounders have the best defensive record in the league while looking to Raul Ruidiaz and Fredy Montero to score the occasional goal.

Philadelphia Union vs Orlando City SC

The Union could be in a playoff spot by the end of the night if they can take three points away from Orlando. Philly is a home favorite at -113, while Orlando has a moneyline of +265. The problem is that the Union is in terrible form, losing three in a row, and hasn’t played since getting bounced from the Champions League.

Of course, third-place Orlando is also coming off back-to-back losses. They will also be without Nani and Andres Perea, who both received red cards in Orlando’s last game.
