Williams faces her toughest opponent yet when Qiang Wang steps onto the court on Tuesday. Wang has been virtually untouched in her four matches. She dominated Ashleigh Barty 6-2, 6-4 in the Round of 16. Wang shouldn’t beat Serena Williams on Sep. 3, but the odds are too good to pass up. Serena has had a tendency to fall flat later on in tournaments. If she falls flat versus Qiang, she’ll bow out of the U.S. Open before the semifinals.

Bencic’s getting the love because she beat Osaka. Vekic has played as well in this tournament as Belinda, though. Donna Vekic is the better play because Bencic’s being overplayed after knocking out the 1-seed.
