With the page set to turn on what has been an absolutely insane 2020 calendar year, it’s time to look ahead at the value-packed ATP tennis betting odds to win all four grand slams in 2021. With three different players – and one first-time slam winner – all hoisting the hardware at the trio of majors that took place in 2020, let’s take a brief overview of next year’s majors starting with the year’s first slam, the Australian Open, along with their Tennis odds.
Tennis Betting | What to expect of next years Grand Slams
Odds To Win 2021 Australian Open
- Novak Djokovic +110
- Rafael Nadal +500
- Dominic Thiem +550
- Roger Federer +600
- Daniil Medvedev +600
Analysis: Djokovic is the prohibitive favorite heading into Melbourne and that’s to be expected with the world No. 1 having claimed two straight titles in Australia and four of the last six overall. Rafael Nadal has won the Aussie Open just once in his illustrious career (2009), so I don’t see it happening for Rafa. 24-year-old Russian Daniil Medvedev has reached the fourth round of the Aussie in consecutive years and could be the real favorite in Australia after his fantastic finish in 2020. Roger Federer went 5-1 in six matches in the only tournament he suited up for in 2020. Fed reached the semis before losing to Djokovic in three sets in the semis. Still, since winning his first Aussie Open title 2004, Federer has reached the semis or better 15 times in 17 years.
Prediction: I’m going with Djokovic as my top pick to win the 2021 Australian Open while Medvedev is my No. 2 pick and Federer, my No. 3 selection. Djokovic should be focused from the start of the year after finishing off 2020 rather quietly.
Pick: Novak Djokovic / No. 2 Daniil Medvedev / No. 3 Roger Federer
Odds To Win 2021 French Open
- Rafael Nadal +120
- Novak Djokovic +225
- Dominic Thiem +400
- Daniil Medvedev +1600
- Stefanos Tsitsipas +160
- Roger Federer +1600
Analysis: While I’m not the biggest Rafael Nadal fan around, betting against the world No. 2 to win the French Open makes no sense whatsoever – even if the ATP Tour’s young guns are getting better by the day. Yes, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev are solid clay court players that have both beaten Rafa on clay in other events, Nadal rules when it comes to Roland Garros and the 2021 French Open should be no different. Nadal has won four straight and 13 of the last 15 French Open titles while smacking Djokovic around en route to a quick, three-set victory.
Prediction: I’m going with Nadal as my top pick, followed by selections for the aforementioned Thiem and Zverev after the two went 25-9 and 28-11 respectively last season.
Pick: Rafael Nadal / No. 2 Dominic Thiem / No. 3 Alexander Zverev
Odds To Win 2021 Wimbledon
- Novak Djokovic +150
- Rafael Nadal +700
- Stefanos Tsitsipas +800
- Daniil Medvedev +900
- Roger Federer +900
Analysis: Djokovic has won two straight Wimbledon titles and five total in his career, but Federer has a record eight Wimbledon titles, most recently in 2017. After watching Federer reach the finals in the last version ever held (2019) I think he’s more than capable of doing it again.
Prediction: I love the value Federer is offering as a +900 pick and it’s definitely too good to pass up. No way does Nadal cash in on his +700 odds, though I think it’s possible that Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alex Zverev could challenge for a berth in the finals. Still, with Federer reaching two of the last three Wimbly finals and winning one, he’s my pick to get it done!
Pick: Roger Federer / No. 2 Stefanos Tsitsipas / No. 3 Alexander Zverev
Odds To Win 2021 U.S. Open
- Nova Djokovic +110
- Dominic Thiem +600
- Daniil Medvedev +600
- Rafael Nadal +600
- Roger Federer +800
- Alexander Zverev +1200
- Stefanos Tsitsipas +1200
Analysis: While Daniil Medvedev lost to Nadal in the 2019 US Open Finals and Thiem in last season’s semifinals, the still blossoming Russian has pulled off consecutive years of deep runs in New York which is why I love the value that he is offering as a +600 pick. Djokovic has won three US Open titles (2011, 2015, 2018), but I don’t think he’s going to get a ton of love from the fans in New York following last season’s disastrous appearance. Federer won five straight in New York from 2004-2008 while reaching the finals in 2009 and 2015. Since then, Federer hasn’t been past the quarterfinals (2017, 2019).
Prediction: I’m really feeling like Daniil Medvedev is going to win the 2021 US Open title after his pair of heartbreaking finishes in New York the last two years. I’ve got Djokovic as my No. 2pick, followed by a selection for the legendary Roger Federer!
Pick: Daniil Medvedev / No. 2 Novak Djokovic / No. 3 Roger Federer
As you can see, I’ve got a quartet of different players winning the year’s four grand slam events. Djokovic takes the Australian Open title while Rafael Nadal wins the French Open. I’ve got Roger Federer getting back on top at Wimbledon before Daniil Medvedev caps off what looks like a thrilling 2021 with his first slam title by winning the U.S. Open.
I also have Alexander Zverev to finish inside the final four in two events (French Open, Wimbledon) while Tsitsipas also reaches the semis in London. With so many gifted young players on the rise – and the grip of the Big Three likely loosening with each passing tournament, we should be in for a fun-filled ride at the very least once the 2021 ATP Tour season does get underway!
