MotoGP Valencian GP Betting Favorites, Analysis & Prediction

Written by on November 4, 2022

By the time this weekend comes to a close, we will know who will be crowned the MotoGP champion. The riders head to Valencia for the final race of the season, with just 2 of them now in the hunt to win it all. Francesco Bagnaia has the upper hand, but defending champion, Fabio Quartararo, can still come from behind to nab his second-straight world title. Unlike some championship races, which can get convoluted in the final few weeks, the needs of both riders are pretty straightforward, which we will get into in just a moment. This is one that should be fun to watch, with the action set to commence on Sunday, November 6 at 8 AM EST. Let’s now take a look at the current top 4 so you can bet against their MotoGP Odds, keeping in mind that only the top 2 can win the championship outright.

MotoGP Betting Analysis for the 2022 Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana Race

Francesco Bagnaia

Much like he did last season, Bagnaia has made a strong finish to the season. Unlike last year, though, he comes into the final race of the season with a shot at winning it all. He was already out of contention in the final race of 2021, but he did still manage to take the win in Valencia, which has to bode well for this weekend. Bagnaia would need to finish outside of the top 15 this coming Sunday to potentially miss out on the title, which seems especially unlikely when you consider that he has been no worse than 3rd in 8 of his last 9 races. Barring some sort of disaster, the championship looks to be his.

Fabio Quartararo

If Quartararo is unable to repeat as champion, he will look back on the season and try to pinpoint where it all went wrong. In a race this close, picking up points is a necessity, with the reigning champ failing to get any points in 3 of the last 9 races. If he was able to finish those runs, we might be talking about an entirely different story this weekend. Instead, Quartararo needs to win in Valencia and somehow hope that Bagnaia suddenly delivers a poor performance. Quartarao ran 5th in this race in 2021, but the title was already clinched by then, so perhaps we can expect better this weekend.

Aleix Espargaro

Sometimes in sports, it can prove to be a long hard road to success, which has very much been the case for Espargaro. Prior to this season, the best performance that Espargaro had delivered in MotoGP was a 7th place finish overall. Given that he is currently sitting in 3rd in the order standings, no matter what happens this weekend, he will be looking at his personal best season. He got there by finding a way to pick up points in every single race, while picking up a single win along the way. He has run in the top 10 in each of his last 3 starts in Valencia.

Enea Bastianini

While the main battle this weekend is for the top spot, we also have a good one going for 3rd place, with just a single point separating Bastanini and Espargaro. It has been a good season for Espargaro, with 4 wins under his belt. He is making solid progress in the sport in just his second full season at this level, and he may be one to keep an eye on next year.
