2022 Challenger Tour Match Odds

The ATP Challenger Tour is a series of men's professional tennis tournaments across the world. The Challenger Tour events are considered a second level of competition for ATP events. As for the third level events, we have the ITF Men's Circuit tournaments of international professional tennis.
Tennis players who succeed on the ATP Challenger Tour earn sufficient ranking points to become eligible for main draw or qualifying draw entry at ATP Tour tournaments.
The Challenger Tour is a great way for young players to advance their careers or players that didn't qualify for ATP events.

Must Bet Matches
- Denis Shapovalov (-275) vs Arthur Rinderknech (+220)
Every talented young player is considered a potential star until, well, they’re not. Denis Shapovalov burst onto the scene as a teenager after winning the Wimbledon Junior Championships in 2016, but the 23-year-old has struggled this season. He has a 16-14 record and is coming off of consecutive first-round losses in grass-court tournaments.
Arthur Rinderknech hasn’t fared much better but defeated Shapovalov 6-4, 6-4 in February at the ATP 250 event in Doha, Qatar. Expect Shapovalov’s struggles to continue in this one.
- Donna Vekic (+120) vs. Jessica Pegula (-150)
The first-round match between Donna Vekic and Jessica Pegula is another rare early-round match where we can find good betting value. Pegula is playing some of the best tennis of her career and should probably be a larger favorite than -150.
The 28-year-old American is 23-12 this season and is coming off a quarterfinal appearance at Roland Garros. Vekic has played well on grass this season but maybe feeling somewhat fatigued. Pegula and Vekic have never faced each other on the WTA Tour.
How the Favorites Have Fared
Djokovic, the pre-tournament betting favorite, was tied at a set apiece with Soon-woo Kwon in his first-round match and seemed rattled at times, but nonetheless persevered in advancing to the second round, where he will face Thanasi Kokkinakis. Berrettini and Nadal didn’t play on the opening day of the tournament.
On the women’s side, Swiatek, Kvitova, and Gauff also don’t play until Tuesday. Ons Jabeur, however, looked very impressive in a straight-set victory over Mirjam Bjorklund. Her odds of winning the tournament improved slightly.
Early Upsets
The biggest upset in the men’s draw happened in the first scheduled match of the tournament. Hubert Hurkacz, who fared well on grass this season and appeared poised for a decent run at Wimbledon, lost in a fifth-set tiebreaker to world No. 37 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Hurkacz went down two sets and rallied back to force a fifth set but lost 10-8 in the tiebreak.
Both Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, two of the early tournament favorites, survived first-round scares. Djokovic surprisingly gave up a set to world No. 84 Soon-woo Kwon and faced some contentious points, while Alcaraz, an upstart 19-year-old Spaniard, eked out a five-set victory over world No. 155 Jan-Lennard Struff.
