Which driver has the better chance of taking the 2019 Belgian GP checkered flag? Hamilton, Vettel, or Leclerq?
Racers haven’t gotten behind their vehicles since the Hungarian Grand Prix back on August 4. The break should have provided Vettel and Leclerq some things that will help them on Sunday. Vettel might be the one to watch because he finished third behind Hamilton and Verstappen at Hungary.
Leclerq finished fourth, though. So, Charles isn’t that far off from the Top 3 finishers at the last F1 event. The real key here is to decide if going against Lewis Hamilton is worth doing. Hamilton is at +130 odds. That might make him an overlay. He won this race in 2017 and finished second to Vettel last year.
All three drivers, Hamilton, Vettel, and Leclerq, offer odds above even money. Go with your gut in this case. If you have doubts, just take the decent odds on Hamilton to win yet again.
Does Valtteri Bottas offer fair odds to win the Belgian Grand Prix?
Not really. Half glass full Valtteri fans will say that he’s due for another victory. After all, he won 2 of the first 4 Formula 1 races this year. But, Bottas hasn’t performed exceptionally well in the last couple of races, including finishing eighth at Hungary. At the odds, Valtteri is a play against.
Can Max Verstappen pull off the upset at +800?
It’s peculiar why Max Verstappen is at +800 odds to win the Belgian Grand Prix. Verstappen has been hot. He won the Austrian GP and the race at Germany. Red Bull’s top racer finished third at the 2018 Belgian Grand Prix, 31 second behind Sebastian Vettel.
If you believe in Max Verstappen, go for it. Verstappen feels he can make a move and wrest away the championship from Hamilton’s grasp. If you really think he has a chance, jump on the +800 odds for this Sunday’s event.
What two Belgian Grand Prix race matchups should F1 handicappers consider playing?
Check out a couple of top matchups for this Sunday’s race:
- Sebastian Vettel -125
- Charles Leclerq +105
This can definitely go either way, which means if we play it, we should consider backing Leclerq at the better odds. There’s a +25 difference between Leclerq at +300 and Vettel at +275 to win the race. Vettel could come up huge, but Leclerq has gotten better and better during the year. Leclerq feels like the play here.
- Carlos Sainz -110
- Lando Norris -110
We don’t often write about Sainz or Norris because neither driver finishes in the Top 5. However, Sainz has really driven well lately. He finished fifth at the German Grand Prix while Norris retired. He finished fifth at Hungary while Norris finished ninth.
Sainz presents overlay odds here. Sure, Norris can get lucky and beat him, but, more than likely, Sainz continues impressing with another Top 5 finish.
