Bellator 257: Nemkov Vs Davis 2 Expert Analysis

If you are a fan of MMA, then you are in for a big weekend of action. The UFC will be back in Vegas for another big Fight Night event on Saturday, but there is plenty of action to come before then. We will get into what’s happening the in the LFA in another piece, but for now, let’s turn our attention to Bellator. They will be back in Uncasville for another big night of MMA action on Friday, with the headline event in that one being a rematch and a title fight. It is a smaller main card than what we are used to, but with 4 fights on tap, there are still plenty of opportunities to wager and win some money. Let’s dive into the main card and make some predictions as we go so you can bet against their Bellator odds.

Bellator 257 Betting Preview | MMA Analysis

Veta Arteaga (-110) Vs Desiree Yanez (-110)

It is the ladies who will step into the octagon first on the main card and you need only look at the odds to see how well matched this Flyweight bout is. Both fighters need a win after taking losses last time out, but Arteaga may need this one more, as she has lost 2 in a row and 3 of her last 5, falling to 5-4 in the process. Yanez saw a 4-fight win streak come to an end last time out and is now stepping up for her first fight with Bellator. I think she makes a winning start by decision.

Paul Daley (-185) Vs Samah Homasi (+155)

Next up is a Welterweight bout between a pair of fighters who have been around the block a little. At 38, Daley is in the waning years of his career, but he is still a dangerous fighter, going 42-17-2 in a career that includes time spent in the UFC. He is on a modest 2-fight win streak coming into this one. Homasi has won 4 in a row, which includes 3 wins in his first 3 with Bellator. This is a fight where we can probably expect to see fists flying. I am taking Daley to win by KO.

Corey Anderson (-170) Vs Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov (+145)

The Light Heavyweights are up next in a quarter-final tournament event that is listed as the co-main event for the night. This will be the second fight for Anderson after making the move from the UFC and he will be looking for his second consecutive win. Anderson got the job done quickly last time out, finishing things off in Round 2. Yagshimuradov is on fire right now and is on an 8-fight win streak that took his record to 18-5-1. This, though, is a step up in class, which is why I have Anderson by decision.

Vadim Nemkov (-200) Vs Phil Davis (+170)

The evening ends with a Light Heavyweight title fight that is also a rematch between two great fighters. This will be the first title defense for Nemkov, who KOed Ryan Bader to win the belt in his last fight out. That was his 7th consecutive win. Phil Davis is a former champion who lost the belt to Bader and who is looking to get it back. The last meeting between these two ended in a split decision in favor of the champ and I like him to win again on Friday night.
