Round one of the NRL will see rugby league action return to the Southern Hemisphere after five months off. Here are the matchups that will take place over the next few days:

To date, the Eels have gone 1-1 in their pre-season, losing to the Panthers and beating the Knights, while the Storm are also 1-1, beating the Warriors and losing to the Roosters.
With their last match ending 22-14 to the Eels, and the one before that 28-24 to the same, the best wager feels like one on the Eels again here. They’re the slight underdog in the betting odds at +109 to -151, making this a healthy bet too.

Dolphins vs. Roosters
Our next match to bet on is an exciting one, with the Dolphins making their NRL debut. The Brisbane-based side will host the Roosters in their opening match, and will be eager to start on a strong note.
The Dolphins have had a mixed pre-season, drawing 22 all with the Cowboys before losing most recently to the Titans 40-16. The Roosters have been slightly better, winning against the Storm 32-23 before losing to the Sea Eagles 28-16.
With the Dolphins new to the competition, and the Roosters finishing sixth last year, this result should favor the visitors. However, the Dolphins will be focused in on getting a win, and have some strong signings already this year. An upset at odds of +553 is not entirely off the cards, but with the Roosters paying -1428 to win, is looking pretty unlikely.
