Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week – June 10th Edition

Saturday, June 15

Sullivan Barrera / Jesse Hart

  • Where: Las Vegas, NV
  • TV: ESPN / ESPN2

22-2 Sullivan Barrera battles 25-2 Jesse Hart in an interesting light heavyweight battle. Hart is moving up in class from super middleweight. Both of these guys are really good fighters. Barerra is the natural light heavyweight, though. He put the loss to Dmitry Bivol behind him with a great unanimous decision win over Sean Monaghan. It’s tough to back Hart in this. Barrera should win.

Boxing Betting Pick: Sullivan Barrera

Tyson Fury / Tom Schwarz

24-0 Tom Schwarz has a lot of power. He’s knocked out 16 of his opponents. However, every opponent he’s fought, like Julian Fernandez, Samir Nabo,  and Kristijan Krstacic, stood right in front of him. They also had no speed or counter punching ability.

Slow hands will kill you every time versus a stronger puncher like Schwarz. Fury has fast hands. He’s got the fastest hands in the heavyweight division while he can throw a punch from pretty much any angle. This is most definitely a setup fight for the rematch with Wilder.

Boxing Betting Pick: Tyson Fury

Jason Welborn / JJ Metcalf

  • Where: Leeds, England
  • TV: ESPN+

24-7 Jason Welborn has only 7 knockouts to his credit. He’s an old school brawler with limited power who keeps fighting until you hurt him the way Jarrett Hurd did, or pile up points against him the Craig Cunningham did way back in 2016.

19-0 James Metcalf has more power than Welborn. He’s knocked out 11 of his opponents. This should be a truly interesting battle because the fighter that figures to be more aggressive, Welborn, could get caught by the less aggressive fighter.

Metcalf hasn’t fought anyone of note while Welborn last battled Jarrett Hurd. Welborn should pull out the victory on Saturday night.

Boxing Betting Pick: Jason Welborn

Josh Warrington / Kid Galahad

28-0 Josh Warrington battles 26-0 Kid Galahad in the feature event on the Leeds, England card on June 15. Both are very good fighters. Galahad will try to get inside of Warrington’s longer reach. If he can do that, he’ll have a shot.

Warrington beat Carl Frampton in his last fight to win the IBF Featherweight title. He’s got all the skill necessary to have a long, successful, run as champion. He should hand Kid Galahad the first loss of his career.

Boxing Betting Pick: Josh Warrington
