Top Boxing Betting Picks for the Week – June 24th Edition

Eduardo Ramirez vs Claudio Marrero

  • When: Saturday, June 29
  • Where: Houston, TX
  • TV: Showtime

Ramirez is a skilled fighter. Although he couldn’t handle Lee Selby in a unanimous decision loss in 2017, he has since bounced back with two victories. Ramirez has good defense and since he’s a southpaw, he often disrupts what his right handed opponent tries to accomplish. No wonder Eduardo has a 22-1-3 record.

Claudio Marrero is taller, but he doesn’t have a reach advantage. Ramirez has a 2” inch reach advantage over Marrero. Not only that, but although Marrero looked great when knocking out Jorge Lara back in April 2018, he followed that up with a unanimous decision loss to Tugstsogt Nyambayar. Marrero has lost 2-of-3, which is why his record is 23-3-0. Ramirez should walk him down in this fight.

Boxing Betting Pick: Eduardo Ramirez

Erickson Lubin vs Zakaria Attou

  • When: Saturday, June 29
  • Where: Houston, TX
  • TV: Showtime

Jermell Charlo knocked out Erickson Lubin in 2017. That’s the only loss on Lubin’s 20-1-0 record. Attou has a much worse record than Lubin. Attou’s record is 29-6-2.

However, Attou hasn’t lost since 2015. He’s gone 10-0-1 since the split decision loss to Roberto Santos. Based on competition, Lubin should dominate Attou on Saturday night, though. Still, Attou has gotten better while Lubin beat Silverio Ortiz and his 37-21 record and Ishe Smith and his 29-10 record in his last couple of bouts. Attou is worth backing at what should be excellent underdog odds.

Boxing Betting Pick: Zakaria Attou

Jermall Charlo vs Brandon Adams

  • When: Saturday, June 29
  • Where: Houston, TX
  • TV: Showtime

Jermell Charlo got back on the winning track this past Sunday night on June 23 with a third round KO of Jorge Cota. Jermell’s brother, Jermall, hopes to keep his undefeated record intact when he battles Brandon Adams on Saturday.

Jarmall Charlo is 28-0. 21 of his 28 wins have come via knockout. He’s just an all-around excellent boxer. Charlo can win from distance, using his jab, or in close with short, powerful, punches. He can throw power punches from a distance as well.

Because he’s got a 73” inch reach, Charlo often dominates his opponents. But, Adams has won 4 fights in a row. He shouldn’t beat Charlo on Saturday night, but however he might be worth backing. Adams’ hand speed could frustrate Jermall in this one while Brandon is in excellent form. Brandon Adams could surprise Jermall Charlo in Saturday’s top boxing match.

Boxing Betting Pick: Brandon Adams

Demetrius Andrade vs Maciej Sulecki

  • When: Saturday, June 29
  • Where: Providence, RI
  • TV: DAZN

Champion Demetrius Andrade is 27-0-0 with 17 knockouts. At 6’ 1”, he’s tall for a middleweight. Sulecki is just as tall, though. Not only that, but Sulecki’s only loss on his 28-1-0 record was to tough Daniel Jacobs.

Andrade hasn’t fought anyone close to Jacobs’ caliber. Sulecki’s loss was via unanimous decision. Sulecki has excellent boxing skills while Andrade tends to get excited when he thinks he’s got his opponent in trouble. If Sulecki is patient, he could goad Andrade to throw some wild punches in this. That’s when Sulecki figures to strike. Maciej Sulecki is another dog on Saturday that has a chance to upset the favored fighter.

Boxing Betting Pick: Maciej Sulecki
