Richard Lartey 14-2

AT 6’ 5”, Richard Lartey is not a small human being. He’s massive. Not only that, but the KO loss to Daniel Dubois was his first since 2014. The loss to Dubois was also his first in the UK. Before that, Lartey had fought exclusively in his native Ghana, where he beat his opponents mostly with ease. Lartey is a better fighter than he showed against Dubois.
Richard Lartey’s Last 5 Fights

  • L – KO vs Daniel Dubois
  • W – TKO vs Morris Okolla
  • W – TKO vs Boniface Kabore
  • W – KO vs Jones Quarshie
  • W – KO vs John Dugu

Nathan Gorman 16-1

Gorman has more experience in the United Kingdom. No doubt, he’s fought better fighters than Lartey. He also has displayed a much better jab, which means that if Lartey hasn’t developed more defensive skills, Gorman could stay outside and keep Lartey away from him. That’s what Gorman attempted with Dubois. It didn’t work versus one of the better heavyweights in the United Kingdom. It could work against Lartey.

Nathan Gorman’s Last 5 Fights

  • L – KO vs Daniel Dubois
  • W – PTS vs Kevin Johnson
  • W – UD vs Razvan Cojanu
  • W – PTS vs Kamil Sokolowski
  • W – TKO vs Sean Turner

Final Richard Lartey vs Nathan Gorman Final Betting Analysis

Nathan Gorman has the heavier hands, which means Lartey must be careful about how he approaches this fight. Gorman expects Lartey to go after him the way Richard tried to in the Dubois fight. If Lartey does that, this fight could end after the first or second round because Nathan is a decent counter-puncher. Also, Gorman will hit Lartey with stinging uppercuts the way Dubois did.
Lartey moves well, though. If he can duck under the jab, he may have a shot to get inside. Once inside, Lartey can land powerful body punches. Lartey has the skills. The key for Richard is to maintain his composure and pick and choose his spots. Gorman will leave himself open during moments in this fight. If Lartey decides to go all out early, he’ll lose early. But if he takes his time, works inside, and manages to land a couple of decent shots, he can pull off the upset.
