Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum: NASCAR Cup Series Odds

Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum: NASCAR Cup Series Odds

Written by on February 3, 2023

Betting on the preseason in any sport can be somewhat risky, but things might be a little different in NASCAR. There are not a lot of races in the preseason, with this race and a couple of duels all the drivers get before the Cup Series action gets into full swing. With that in mind, you can bet that every driver will be out looking to get off to a positive start so that they can build some early momentum moving into the regular season. They will get their first chance to do that this weekend with the running of the Bud Light Clash at the Coliseum, which goes on Sunday at 8 PM EST. This is a different event that it is split up into a number of different short heats on the way to the final run.

With that in mind, we are looking at the NASCAR odds for top 3 overall as opposed to an outright winner, so let’s get to it.

Joey Logano | +236 to Win

It’s probably no real surprise to see that the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion is up among the favorites for this preseason battle. Logano won 4 races last season and ended up on the podium in 4 other races, so you can’t really say he was a consistent top 3 finisher. He won races when it really mattered, including the final race of the season in Phoenix to secure his championship. Repeating as champion is tough, so he will be looking to get out to a strong start here.

Kyle Larson | +236 to Win

If you need any proof of how hard it is to repeat as champion, just take a look at Kyle Larons. He delivered one of the most dominating seasons in NASCAR history when he won it all in 2021, and while he didn’t exactly struggle last season, he found it impossible to maintain the level of the previous year, crashing out of contention in the Round of 8. He ended the year with 3 wins and 4 other podium finishes, so certainly not an awful year. I can guarantee, though, that he will be looking for much better this time around.

Chase Elliott | +236 to Win

During his time in the Cup Series, Elliott has proven to be one of the most consistent drivers out there, always seeming to hover around the leading pack, which allows him to amass a ton of points. He won it all in 202 and has made it into the final four in the playoffs in the two seasons following that win. Like we said, he is super consistent. Elliott had 5 wins and 3 other podium finishes in the 2022 season, and given how he races, he might be the best bet on the board for a top 3 finish.

Kyle Busch | +250 to Win

After a run that saw him win 2 Cup Series Championships in 5 years, Busch has fallen off rather dramatically over the past 3 seasons. He has gotten progressively worse each season, finishing 8th, 9th, and 13th, respectively. He will be looking for a bounce back year, and what better way to do it than with a win at the Coliseum? He did have 1 win and 6 other podium finishes in 2022, so I would not count him out of a top 3 run this weekend.
