Canadian Football League Betting Analysis: 2022 Grey Cup Odds Favorites, Contenders and More

The past two weeks in the CFL have been nothing short of fantastic. So many close games, and the rest of the season should be just as exciting! Even if we are three weeks into the season, it is never too early to look at the current Grey Cup odds

CFL: Week 3 Games, Top Betting Games, Updated Grey Cup Odds to Win

TIER 1: The Favorites

  • Winnipeg Blue Bombers: +250

No surprise that two weeks into the season, we see the Blue Bombers as the favorites. Their offense is not as explosive as many hoped, but their defense continues to be the best in the league!

  • Saskatchewan Roughriders: +450

The Roughriders have gone way over expectations this season. Cody Fajardo has been at his best and does not seem to be slowing down. Their defense has been lights out, and that trend should continue for the foreseeable future.

  • Calgary Stampeders: +450

It is a pleasant surprise to see the Stampeders up here. The offense has done a phenomenal job at finding ways to score. They have not been defensively sound allowing nearly 30 PPG, which does not make for the strongest contender.

TIER 2: Middle of the pack

  • Toronto Argonauts: +600

After only playing one game, the Argonauts are still on their quest for their identity. The offense was rather slow-rolling and was not scoring enough points to be on par with the league average. The defense seems to be the strong suit of this team.

  • BC Lions: +800

The Lions have been the most fun team to watch this season. Rourke has been fantastic, and this offense has been nearly unstoppable. They have been a defensive powerhouse, and they could be a team whose odds rise throughout the following weeks.

  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats: +800

Perhaps the most disappointing team in the CFL right now is the Tiger-Cats. The offense has continually put this team in place to succeed. Yet their defense has been unable to pick up the slack. This is the value pick right now. They will probably not get lower than +800.

TIER 3: Down But Not Out

  • Montreal Alouettes: +1200

The Alouettes are in the midst of a crisis. Their offense and defense are both competitive, yet Montréal cannot find ways to win games. The next few matchups are looking like an uphill battle for the Als, and their odds could continue to plummet.

  • Ottawa Redblacks: +1200

The Redblacks have been a very pleasant surprise. Even though they currently stand at 0-2, they had one-possession games against the champs. It shows that +1200 could have some value in the coming weeks.

  • Edmonton Elks: +4000

Don’t bet on the Elk. There are too many holes, and they haven’t played good football in weeks.

Best Games to Bet On This Week

  • Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Montreal Alouettes (+2.5)

The Alouettes are 2-0 ATS this season. Regardless of the opponent, Montreal will always manage to keep the game within one possession.

Trevor Harris will likely start this week (Vernon Adams Jr. is rumored to have COVID), and he is one of the best passers in the history of the CFL.

Cody Fajardo will probably pull out a win this week, but it will not be a big one.

  • Hamilton Tiger-Cats (+5) vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Winnipeg has yet to be offensively explosive, and there are no signs that indicate some explosiveness. Collaros has been beaten up, so there is reason to worry about this matchup with a competitive Tiger-Cats team.

Hamilton is bound for a big week this week. It may not be a win, but the Blue Bombers have yet to cover a spread. The Tiger-Cats will have a big week this week. This will be Dane Evans’s breakout week!
