Canadian Football Betting Preview for Week 17

Friday, Oct. 5

  • Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Ottawa RedBlacks
Ottawa beat Winnipeg 44-21 way back on August 17. The RedBlacks haven’t been perfect this season, they’re only 8-5, but they do lead the East Division. Ottawa’s also returned to form, winning two in a row both SU and ATS over Saskatchewan and Edmonton. Winnipeg’s also won their last couple. The Blue Bombers dominated Edmonton 30-3 in their last. Before that, they covered a -10.5 spread against Montreal in a 31-14 victory. Winnipeg’s looking sharp and so is Ottawa. When in doubt, take the points. CFL Week 17 Pick: Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Saturday, Oct. 6

  • Toronto Argonauts at British Columbia Lions
At 3-11, Toronto’s got the second worst record in CFL. Only Montreal at 3-11 has a worse record than what Toronto’s got. The Argonauts don’t win games against the spread either, going 5-8 this season. Toronto did beat BC 24-23 in mid-August, though. Could the Argos upset the Lions again? Probably not because since beating British Columbia on August 18, Toronto’s gone 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS. BC rolls. CFL Week 17 Pick: British Columbia Lions

Monday, Oct. 6

  • Calgary Stampeders at Montreal Alouettes
Calgary’s 11-2 record is fantastic. The Stampeders have only stubbed their toes against Saskatchewan and Edmonton. Calgary’s defense couldn’t stop the Rough Riders’ offense or the Eskimos’ offense. Montreal’s offense doesn’t come close to Saskatchewan’s and Edmonton’s. Montreal did play Calgary tough, losing by only 17 as a 19.5 dog on July 21. Plus, Montreal’s coming off a game, a 29-34 loss to Saskatchewan, where they won ATS. The Alouettes could take this against the spread while Calgary wins straight up. CFL Week 17 Pick: Montreal Alouettes
  • Edmonton Eskimos at Saskatchewan Rough Riders
Saskatchewan’s gone 6-1 straight up in their last 7 games. The Rough Riders are only 3 games behind Calgary. They might not make up enough ground to reach the Stampeders, but who knows what happens in the playoffs? The Rough Riders should beat Edmonton, no doubt, but Saskatchewan is 0-3 ATS in their last 3. Here’s another CFL matchup where the team that wins SU won’t be the team that wins ATS. CFL Week 17 Pick: Edmonton
