Men’s College Basketball National Championship Odds Update: March Madness Really Close

It is the last week of the regular season for half of the teams in college basketball, and it is conference tournament season for the other half.

We have the updated odds of who has the best opportunity to win the NCAA Championship. Not a lot has changed in the top names of the odds list. Let’s take a look at our favorite bet, the smart bet, and the longshot bet along with their College Basketball National Championship Odds

Updated NCAA Basketball Championship Betting Odds

Favorite: Gonzaga Bulldogs +400

Even after the road to loss to St. Mary’s, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are still the #1 team in the nation and the current betting favorite. It was a cold shooting night for the Bulldogs against St. Mary’s, especially for junior Drew Timme.

On the season, Gonzaga is 24-3, with the previous two losses coming against Duke and Alabama. With the way the Western Coastal Conference Tournament is set up, Gonzaga is already in the semifinals of that tournament. The Bulldogs could see San Francisco in the semifinal matchup.

Drew Timme continues to lead the way for the Bulldogs this season. Timme is averaging 17.6 points per game.

Gonzaga would be a good team to bet on because of their tournament seeding. If they win the WCC Tournament, they will take the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, which typically has the easiest path to the Final Four.

Smart Bet: Arizona Wildcats +775

The Arizona Wildcats suffered a tough road loss to the Colorado Buffaloes but responded well with a 20 point win over USC. Arizona has been an impressive team all season, currently holding a record of 26-3. Arizona has one regular-season game left before preparing for the Pac-12 Tournament.

Arizona has been led by Ben Mathurin this season. Mathurin averages 17.2 points per game to lead the Wildcats in scoring. When looking at top NBA prospects, Mathurin is on the list of players that could be a lottery pick in the upcoming draft.

The Wildcats have four players that average double figures on the season. Arizona has a very good core group with Azuolas Tubelis, Christian Koloko, and Kerr Kriisa. They have strength, height, and quickness.

Arizona is a team that many people may not know about. With the Wildcats playing a lot of west coast games, it is tough for central and eastern time zone fans to stay up and watch. At +775 odds, Arizona would be a good team to bet on.

Longshot: Wisconsin Badgers +8000

This is the true definition of a longshot with the Wisconsin Badgers. This week, Wisconsin has clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship. Led by Johnny Davis, the Badgers are looking to claim the #1 overall seed in the Big Ten Tournament.

Wisconsin felt slighted after not being picked to finish in the Top-5 in the Big Ten. They knocked off the Purdue Boilermakers to clinch a share of the regular-season title. The Badgers swept Purdue this season.

Wisconsin is a team that has a very longshot of winning the NCAA Championship. Against a team that can play good defense on guards, Wisconsin may struggle. They could be on upset alert, but you have to respect the fact that they won the Big Ten regular-season title.
