NCAAF 2020 Season Week 8 O/U Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on October 21, 2020

This is going to be another big weekend in the world of college football, as we have the Big Ten season set to begin on Saturday. It is going to be interesting to see how those teams will impact the overall rankings when looking ahead to the college football playoffs. Has the conference left it too late in the eyes of the playoff committee, or will one or two teams play well enough to make it impossible to be ignored? We will find out in the fullness of time, but for now, we are simply focusing on making our picks for the coming weekend. We are touching on the O/U selections in this piece, but we will also have SU and ATS selections coming your way, so be on the lookout for those. With that said, let’s have a look at our O/U selections for week 8 so you can make your bets against their NCAAF odds.

O/U Picks Week 8 | 2020 NCAA Football Betting

Kansas Jayhawks at Kansas State Wildcats (OVER 48 ½)

Last season, the Jayhawks ended their year on a 4-game losing skid. The hope was that they would come out fresh this season and get back to winning, but that losing streak has now been extended to 8 after losing their opening 4 games. They now have to go on the road as a heavy underdog to face a Kansas State team that has ripped off 3 wins in a row. That does not bode well for the Jayhawks, but all we are really concerned about here is the point total. Kansas has had some real problems putting points on the board, but the fact that the OVER has hit in 5 of their last 6 tells you all you need to know about the state of their defense. While the under has been the trend for the Wildcats, I think they score big here and take the total OVER.

Syracuse Orange at Clemson Tigers (OVER 61 ½)

While some of the other conferences are seeing tight battle emerge, the ACC is once again proving to be little more than a practice session for the Clemson Tigers. They are far and away the class of the conference and are showing absolutely no mercy at all this season. Last weekend, they had scored 52 points by half time against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets before eventually ending the game with 73 points. While the Syracuse Orange have made a habit of making things tough for Clemson in recent seasons, you get the feeling that this one might not be that close. As far as the point total goes, the OVER has hit in 7 of the last 9 games for the Orange, so I am definitely seeing this one as an OVER play.

Oklahoma Sooners at TCU Horned Frogs (OVER 59 ½)

If there is one thing that we have come to expect from Big 12 football, it is that games very often end up turning into shootouts. Oklahoma in particular have made a habit of getting involved in high-scoring games, mostly due to the fact that they recruit gunslinging QBs while seemingly paying little attention to the defensive side of the football. They are on a run now that has seen the OVER hit in each of their last 3 games. In a rather odd little trend, each of Oklahoma’s last 10 games in Week 8 have also gone OVER. It is much the same with TCU, with 9 of their last 13 games going OVER.
