I could also say that Alabama has a fantastic defense that limits the opposition to just 15.9 points per contest (ninth).

There’s also the fact that Alabama has won seven straight in this SEC series while finding an answer to every potential problem they’ve faced this season. The Crimson Tide has scored 56 points or more in three of their last four games and come into this contest off an emphatic 58-21 beatdown over Tennessee two weeks ago.

Last but not least, Alabama is well-rested after getting a bye this past weekend. This season, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has completed an incendiary 70.4 percent of his passes for 2,066 yards with 25 TD passes and no interceptions while wide receiver Jerry Jeudy has hauled in a team-high 31 passes for 777 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Why should you bet on the Tigers? There are also several good reasons. First, LSU is clearly playing its best football of the season right now, having won two straight in highly impressive fashion. First, the Tigers upset previously No. 3 Georgia 36-16 at home on October 13 and then they backed that up with another commanding in their 19-3 smackdown of Mississippi State two weeks ago.

Then there’s the fact that the Tigers actually have the better statistical defense in this affairs they’ve limited the opposition to just 15.1 points per game this season (seventh). Last but not least, there’s the good old revenge factor. As I previously mentioned, LSU has lost seven straight in this series including a hard-fought 24-10 road loss to the Tide last season.

As much as I’d like to see LSU get the outright win in this contest, I think that’s a big stretch, seeing as how these two teams are almost evenly matched defensively, but Alabama has the huge edge on offense by over three touchdowns per game. Still, I also don’t see the Tigers losing this contest by the 15 points it would take for them to fail to cover the spread.

First and foremost, each of the last four meetings between these rivals has been decided by 14 points or less. While Alabama has gone 15-7 ATS in their last 22 road games and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 road games against a team with a winning home record the Crimson Tide are also just 1-5 ATS in their last six games in the month of November/ LSU has gone 5-0 ATS in their last five games in November, a near-perfect 10-1 ATS in their last 11 conference games and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall.

While Alabama has gone 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 road dates against the Tigers, I’m going with LSU to get the big ATS cover at home while pushing the Tide hard for the outright win before narrowly falling.
