Why Bet on Boston College’s NCAAF Spread at +34.5?

Boston College has gotten pounded in each of their last two games including their 34-10 Week 2 home loss to Wake Forest as a pick ‘em and their 49-20 Week 3 loss to Notre Dames as a 14-point home underdog. Freshman quarterback Anthony Brown completed 24 of 40 passes for 215 yards with two touchdowns but threw two costly interceptions in the loss. Now, the Eagles will take on a Clemson squad that is loaded and apparently intent on getting back into thee four-team playoff at the very least. “They’ve got playmakers all over the field,” Boston College coach Steve Addazio said. “I think the quarterback, Kelly Bryant, is a very athletic guy. He runs the ball. He reminds me of how (Boston College quarterback) Tyler Murphy used to run the ball. Throws the ball well.” Eagles will face a Tigers defense that leads the nation in sacks (16) and is ranked eighth in points allowed (10.0 ppg). Linebacker Dorian O’Daniel leads the Tigers in tackles behind a bunch of likely NFL performers on the defensive line. He had five tackles at Louisville last week and returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown. “On defense they’ve always been outstanding, and they continue to be,” Addazio said. “Their front is big and athletic. The linebackers run well. Their secondary is one of the better secondaries I’ve seen. They rally to the ball as good as any defense I have ever seen.”

Why Bet on Clemson’s NCAAF Spread at -32.5?

Clemson has won a whopping 18 straight games against their ACC Atlantic Division opponents and owns a six-game winning streak against Boston College. More importantly, new starting quarterback Kelly Bryant has take over for former star Deshaun Watson seamlessly. Bryant completed 22 of 32 passes against the Cardinals for 316 yards and one touchdown while rushing 18 times for 26 yards and two additional scores, prompting Watson to Tweet shortly thereafter that Bryant “is going to be better than me.” The Tigers also got an outstanding performance from freshman running back Travis Etienne who rushed for 98 yards on six carries including an 81-yard touchdown burst. Sophomore running back Tavien Foster added a career-high 92 yards on only 10 carries. The Clemson Tigers are favorites with a -32.5 NCAAF Spread. For the season, Bryant has rushed for 162 yards and five touchdowns in Clemson’s first three games while completing a stellar 68.7 percent of his passes for 733 yards and two scores. “He has put in the work, so it’s awesome to see him having the success that he’s having,” Swinney said. “Bryant has put the time in, learned, and now has complete ownership in what we’re doing.”

Expert NCAAF Spread Analysis and Prediction

While I’m not real fond of the high spread in this Week 4 pairing, I just don’t see Boston College being able to keep up with the Tigers to cover it, even as nearly five touchdown underdogs. The Eagles are just 2-5 ATS in their L/7 games against a team with a winning record while Clemson has gone 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games in the month of September. Clemson will get another outstanding effort from its powerful defensive line and another solid effort from Kelly to cover the insane college football betting line in this one. NCAAF Spread Pick: Clemson -34.5
