College Football Bowl Betting Predictions: Orange, Citrus, Rose, Sugar Analysis

This weekend will serve as the final week of the college football regular season, after which we will head into the Conference Championship Games. Once that is all said and done, will know who will face who in the playoffs. We will also know the contestants in what is sure to be another busy bowl season. There are a ton of bowl games coming our way in December, but many of them are of the minor variety, especially in the early going. The bigger bowl games all come later in the year and at the start of the New Year, and those are what we are going to focus on here. The matchups we are discussing here are nothing more than College Football Bowl Betting predictions, as we may well see things change over the next couple of weeks.

NCAAF Betting Predictions for the 2022-23 Orange Bowl, Citrus Bowl, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl

Orange Bowl – December 30

The Orange Bowl pits an ACC team against one of either of the SEC/Big Ten/Notre Dame. Given the year that the Irish have had, I believe we can rule them out of this one. In our most recent prediction, we had UNC and Alabama going head-to-head in this one, but I think that may not now be the case. I still think that we will see the Crimson Tide playing in this bowl game, but I also believe that it might well be Clemson that drops in here now. That would certainly make for a fantastic matchup that the organizers would almost certainly love.

Citrus Bowl – January 2

The Citrus Bowl pits an SEC team against a team from the Big Ten. In a recent prediction, we had Ole Miss being the SEC team taking part in this one, but with Tennessee getting blown out last weekend, their chances of a playoff spot have gone, which means they have dropped down the pecking order. It would not be a surprise to see the Vols land in this bowl game, which is still a good one. As far as the team from the Big Ten goes, it will likely be Penn State or Iowa who gets the nod to be the representative.

Rose Bowl – January 2

In this bowl, we have the Big Ten going against the PAC-12, and again I think we have a rather clear matchup here. The team that loses the Ohio State/Michigan game is almost certainly going to drop into the Rose Bowl. I have the Buckeyes winning that one, so let’s put the Michigan Wolverines in here. Who do they face? The Oregon Ducks saw their playoff come to an end recently, but I think this would be a nice reward for what has been a very decent season. My prediction for this one stays the same as last time.

Sugar Bowl – December 31

Our final prediction is the Sugar Bowl, which pits the SEC against the Big 12, and again I think we have what looks to be a rather clear matchup. The LSU Tigers are heading to the SEC Conference Championship Game to face the Georgia Bulldogs, with a win there likely to put them in the playoff conversation. I don’t like their chances in that one, though, so this would be a decent consolation prize for them. The Kansas State Wildcats look like the most probable opponent for the Tigers.
