NCAAF Michigan State Spartans WinLoss Total Betting Prediction for the 2022 Season

NCAAF Michigan State Spartans Win/Loss Total Betting Prediction for the 2022 Season

You can look at the performance of a specific team in the previous season, see that they have improved in certain areas, and automatically assume that they will be better in the coming season. For the Michigan State Spartans, matching the 11 wins they delivered last season is going to be tough, thanks in large part to a very tough schedule, with many of their toughest games coming on the road. The bookies seem to agree with this assessment, as they have the Spartans win total set at 7 ½, which represents a potential backward step in 2022. The thing that falls in the favor of Michigan State this season is that they have some easy games before the schedule turns tough with conference games. Will that be enough to get them over 7 ½ wins? Let’s take a closer look at their upcoming schedule so you can plan your bets against their NCAAF Regular Season Wins Odds.

Michigan State 2022 Season Betting Prediction: Win/Loss Total Record

Spartans Regular Season 2022

The Spartans should be able to get off to a fast start and build some confidence, as they open up the season with a pair of home games against Western Michigan and Akron. Those should both be comfortable wins that will allow the offense to get into a groove. Things get tougher after that, with a road trip to Washington followed by a home game against Minnesota. A split there could leave Michigan State at 3-1 as they head into October.

The month of October looks to be a challenge from start to finish, with the Spartans opening the month on the road to Maryland. They will then have Ohio State and Wisconsin at home, neither of which are easy. The Buckeyes destroyed the Spartans last season, and while this one will be on home field, it still looks like a loss. A win over the Badgers seems a little more likely. They close out the month on the road to face Michigan, which is another tough one. They have won on back-to-back seasons against the Wolverines, but this is no slam dunk.

The month of November looks to be a little more manageable, so they should be able to pick up some wins coming down the stretch. November starts with a winnable road trip to Illinois, followed by a home tilt against Rutgers. They will then be home again to Indiana before closing out the season on the road to Penn State.

As you can see, the road trips that the Spartans have to take this season could potentially make or break their season. A 10-win regular season looks to be a bit of a stretch, but I do think they can do enough to creep over the win total, as I think that 8 wins seems possible for this team.

Beyond the Regular Season

In the grand scheme of things, last season had to be considered a disappointment for Ohio State, and even then, the Michigan State Spartans could not win the division and get to the Big Ten Conference Championship Game. As good as Michigan State are, their schedule is tough to the point where I don’t see them getting into a New Year’s 6 bowl game, but I am taking them to go OVER the win total for the 2022 season.
