Nine Best Bets on 2017 College Football Season

In Depth Analysis on the 9 Best College Football Bets for 2017

Written by on August 3, 2017

While the main bulk of the games in the opening week of college football season do not start until early September, there are a few set to go this month. This is great news for college football fans who are running out of patience waiting for the new season to kick off. It’s also great news for bettors who play the majority of their wagers in the NCAAF. So let’s take a look at those games and make sure to review each one of the NCAAF betting odds available at MyBookie.

In Depth Analysis on the 9 Best College Football Bets for 2017

Making predictions is early tough, but I have come up with the 9 best bets for college football season. I considered a number of different formats for this, but decided to choose 1 game from each of the first 9 weeks of the season. Thus, going with games that feature great match-ups, as this would usually mean that good odds will be available.

Week 1 – Michigan Wolverines Vs Florida Gators

The current SEC East champions will be heading to Arlington for a neutral site game against a Michigan Wolverines team that has a lot of holes to plug after losing a bunch of great players to the NFL. Florida last season was not impressing, and I don’t see them winning the East again this year. I think Michigan will have reloaded quite nicely, and will come away with the opening week win.

Week 2 – Louisville Cardinals Vs North Carolina Tar Heels

These two teams have locked horns 7 times since the late 80’s, and it Louisville who have a slight 4-3 edge in those games. I think that they are going to be able to improve on that record, as I like Louisville to go on the road and beat the Tar Heels. Heisman winner Lamar Jackson will be back and better than ever, and this team is going to be tough to stop.

College Football Week 10 Best Matchups & Betting Picks

Week 3 – LSU Tigers Vs Mississippi State Bulldogs

This is a game where the Tigers should be favorites, but since they are on the road, the odds here might still be quite good. LSU have won 4 of the last 5 against Mississippi State, but the last two have been close, deciding by a total of just 7 points. Watch out for the spread on this one, as it might be another tight affair.

Week 4 – Oklahoma Sooners Vs Baylor Bears

These two teams have split their last 6 meetings, but it has been the point totals in those games that may have set the trend here. The average point total for those games comes in at 71.5, which suggests that we are going to see another high-scoring affair this year. This may be a good game for the OVER bet.

Week 5 – Oklahoma State Cowboys Vs Texas Tech Red Raiders

This is another match-up looking like it will be producing ridiculous scores, and passes the OVER bar, no matter how high it gets set. Their last 4 meetings have eclipsed the 80-point mark, and the 2015 games was particularly stunning, with 123 total points scored. These two love to get into shoot-outs, so shoot for the OVER in this one.

Week 6 – Penn State Nittany Lions Vs Northwestern Wildcats

A lot of folks like Penn State to make it to the college football season playoffs this year, but they have a couple of potential banana peel games along the way, with this being one of them. The Nittany Lions have lost their last two meetings with Northwestern, and while they might be good enough to get over this hurdle this season, perhaps look at the spread for this one, and take the Wildcats to cover. Look for the Arkansas Razorbacks to lose, but perhaps keep things close this College Football season.

Week 7 – Arkansas Razorbacks at Alabama Crimson Tide

It’s impossible to know what the spread is going to be for this game, but since Alabama has won 9-straight against Arkansas, I get the sense it will over-inflate. The last couple of meetings have been closer than the previous lot, so look for the Razorbacks to lose, but perhaps keep things close.

Week 8 – Oregon Ducks Vs UCLA Bruins

The Ducks had a down year last season, yet they were still able to extend their win streak over UCLA to 6 games. That streak included wins in their last two visits to California, and while there ae still a lot of question marks about this year’s Ducks team, I think they can hit the road and extend that streak to 7.

Week 9 – Georgia Bulldogs Vs Florida Gators

This is one of the most anticipated college football games each season, as these two teams will make their annual pilgrimage to Jacksonville for a neutral site game. Georgia are the sixth pick in the SEC East, but they will almost certainly need to win this one if they want to be the next champs. I think they can get that win, and I also suggest taking a look at the UNDER.
