2022 College Football SU Betting Picks for the Top Weekend Games on Week 2

2022 College Football SU Betting Picks for the Top Weekend Games on Week 2

After all that happened in Week 1 of the college football season, it’s fair to say that we have a tough act to follow this coming weekend. There were surprises to be found all over the place in the opening week of the season, as well as no shortage of drama and compelling storylines. As usual, it’s easy to get carried away after the first round of games, but we really do need to adopt a wait and see attitude before making any massive claims about how things might play out this year. We will have a bit of a clearer picture once we get through Week 2, which is what we are focusing on here. We have a ton of picks lined up for you, starting with a set of SU picks for this weekend. Rather than making the easy picks, we are looking for value and playing games that our Online Sports Book see as being close. Let’s get into the selections so you can get ready to bet against the NCAA Football Betting Lines.

UTSA Roadrunners over Army Black Knights

There is sure to be some pressure on both teams heading into this Week 2 matchup, as both are coming off opening week losses. UTSA battled hard against Houston before eventually falling by a score of 37-35. Army came out on the losing side of things against Coastal Carolina, going down 38-28 in an exciting matchup. UTSA is in as a very mild 1 ½ point favorite for this one and I like them to bounce back and get their first win of the season. The Roadrunners have covered in each of their last 5 games and are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games played on the road. Not an easy one by any stretch of the imagination, but let’s go with the Roadrunners.

Iowa State Cyclones over Iowa Hawkeyes

Rivalry games are always a blast, and we have a good one coming our way this Saturday afternoon. The Iowa State Cyclones rolled to a 42-10 win over the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks in what amounted to little more than a warm-up game for them. Iowa also picked up a win, but it was a struggle from start to finish against South Dakota State, with Iowa winning 7-2 in a game that they started as a 10 ½ point favorite. Like we have said before, it’s never a good idea to get too up or down on a team based on a single performance, but that Iowa game was alarming. The Cyclones hit the road as an underdog this weekend and I think they are a very decent bet. I’m taking them SU, but if you want to play it safe, go with them against the spread.

Houston Cougars over Texas Tech Red Raiders

It’s easy to look at a matchup, take a quick glance at the previous meetings, and make an instant pick that you come to regret. The fact of the matter is that the Red Raiders have won 5 of their last 6 meetings with the Cougars, which may help explain why they are a 3 ½ point favorite this weekend. A deeper dog, though, shows that the Houston Cougars have now won 12 of their last 13 games, which includes 7 of their last 8 on the road. Taking a pair of dogs this weekend is risky, but both are risks worth taking, in my humble opinion.
