Labor Day weekend features the first games of the NCAA Football odds season. While such tilts as the Baylor Bears heading to Dallas to take on lowly Southern Methodist in a Friday night affair that weekend, there are many more entertaining games for your viewing pleasure that will be coming your way that weekend. Here is a look at some of the games that you should pay attention to during that opening week.

Must Watch Week 1 College Football Betting Games

Some teams are opening their 2015 campaigns with a cupcake on the schedule (yes, Art Briles, I’m talking to you at Baylor), but the Bears are far from alone. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some teams with some courage to open the year, and one of those is the University of Texas, which heads to Notre Dame. The Longhorns have had the entire offseason to determine what the big problem was with their offense. The Fighting Irish have a couple of strong quarterbacks, but the hope is that one of them has emerged by then to take the reins of the team.

Alabama vs. Wisconsin

In Arlington, Texas, Alabama will be squaring off against Wisconsin. Alabama won the SEC last year, and Wisconsin made it to the B1G championship game, falling to eventual national champion Ohio State. Alabama lost quarterback Blake Sims, and Melvin Gordon and Amari Cooper, who were finalists for the Heisman Trophy, will be gone too. Corey Clement and Jake Coker are opening new eras. This will be an intriguing matchup to watch.

Ohio State @ Virginia Tech

Ohio State heads to Blacksburg, Virginia, to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. Why is this an intriguing matchup, given that Virginia Tech only went 7-6 last year while the Buckeyes only lost one game on the way to a national championship? Because one of the Hokies’ 7 wins happened at Ohio State – the only blemish on Urban Meyer’s record last season. The Buckeyes hope to avenge that loss.

Auburn vs. Louisville

Auburn takes on Louisville at the Georgia Dome. Somehow, Bobby Petrino still has a job in coaching after all of the scandal and drama he has gone through, as Louisville has embraced him once again. He also served as the offensive coordinator at Auburn way back when. Watching the combat between Auburn’s offense and Louisville’s defense will make this an intriguing matchup on the field as well.

Arizona State vs. Texas A&M

Arizona State heads to Houston’s Reliant Stadium to face Texas A&M. Kyle Allen (for the Aggies) and Mike Bercovici (for ASU) are two starting quarterbacks who could be turning up on SportsCenter on a regular basis. The Sun Devils’ defense is rock-solid, but new defensive coordinator John Chavis could provide Arizona State with a number of challenges as well.

Michigan @ Utah

Michigan travels to Utah for a Thursday night affair. You might wonder why Michigan would even worry about Utah, but Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke could not beat the Utes during their time with the Wolverines – and they got to face Utah at home.

BYU @ Nebraska

Brigham Young University heads to Nebraska to give new Huskers coach Mike Riley an early test. Taysom Hill returns to quarterback the Cougars, which means Nebraska will have all they can handle.
