Winner’s Age

  • Over 23 ½                  -120
  • Under 23 ½                +120

94 contestants will look to take home the Miss Universe title on Sunday night in Bangkok. Because so many contestants are present, it’s difficult to decide whether a post-23-year-old or a pre-23-year-old takes the prize.

Since 2010, 3 women under the age of 23 have taken home the crown. A single 23-year-old won while 4 have won it at 24-years-old or older. That’s a 4-3-1 trend to over 23 ½. Because the favorites are 27-year-old Brazilian Marya Darias and 24-year-old Canadian Marta Stepian, the over might hit again.201

2018 Miss Universe Betting Pick: Over 23 ½

Will Steve Harvey Announce the Wrong Winner Again?

  • Yes                  +4000
  • No                   -10000

If Harvey announces the wrong winner again, like he did in 2015, he’ll never find another job on the planet hosting an event. Harvey most likely won’t make another mistake like that. That happened 3 years ago, though.

Maybe, Steve’s got a terrible memory? Maybe, he falls back into his old ways? Also, how often do we get to wager on something at +4000 odds that could conceivably happen, and gives us a reason to watch something we probably wouldn’t watch?

This is one of those entertainment wagers.

2018 Miss Universe Betting Pick: Yes

Will a Contestant Fall Down During the Competition?

  • Yes                  +500
  • No                   -900
It’s tough to find stats, but falls do happen. Not only that, but it takes a lot of rehearsal to make sure that 94 contestants do exactly everything right. Let’s not forget that these women, although most have pageant experience, aren’t necessarily professionals.

Pageants don’t happen every day and they most definitely on this scale. A fall, a trip, a sudden stumble that leads to a fall…94 contestants means more than 94

chances of something like that happening at some point during the competition. 2018 Miss Universe Betting Pick: Yes

2018 Miss Universe Odds To Win

  • Brazil                          +850
  • Canada                       +1000
  • Columbia                   +1000
  • Australia                    +1000
  • Costa Rica                  +1300
  • Vietnam                      +1500
  • Thailand                     +2000
  • USA                            +2000
  • France                             +2300

The way to handicap the Miss Universe winner is to look at nation trends. The USA hasn’t won Miss Universe since 2012 when Olivia Culpo won it. Sarah Rose Summers from Omaha most likely won’t take the crown. The winner should come from one of the chalk options:  Brazil’s Mayra Dias, Canada’s Marta Stepien, Columbia’s Valeria Morales, or Australia’s Francesca Hung.

Colombia won in 2014. Canada won in 2005 while Australia won in 2004. A woman from Brazil hasn’t won since 1968. Not only that, but Miss Dias is an older contestant and has established her brand in her home country.

The chalks the choice.

2018  Miss Universe Betting Pick: Brazil – Mayra Dias
