Overwatch League 2019 Stage 4 – Week 2

  • Where: Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, Burbank, CA
  • When: 1 – Aug. 4
  • TV: Disney XD
  • Streaming: Twitch

Thursday, Aug. 1

  • Guangzhou Charge / London Spitfire

The Guangzhou Charge are 2-0 in Stage 4. That puts them in a tie with Vancouver atop the Stage 4 Standings. Guangzhou has won four in a row: 3-1 over Shanghai, 4-0 over Washington, 3-2 over Philadelphia, and 4-0 over Boston.

On Thursday, they battle another 2-0 Stage 4 team in London Spitfire. San Francisco and L.A. Valiant dominated London by 4-0 scores in a couple of matches in late June. However, since Stage 4 began, Spitfire has beaten Dallas 3-1 and Toronto 3-1. That winning streak won’t continue on Thursday, though. The Charge takes this.

eSports Betting Pick: Guangzhou Charge

Friday, Aug. 2

  • New York Excelsior / Paris Eternal

New York Excelsior has lost their last couple of matches. Shanghai Dragons beat them 3-1 on July 11. On July 25, L.A. Gladiators beat them 3-1.

Paris Eternal is 1-1 straight up in Stage 4 after beating Houston 3-1 and losing 2-3 to Valiant. This should be an excellent match, but Excelsior figures to come out ahead. Before their 2-match bump in the road, New York had won 7 straight including beating Paris Eternal 3-1 on June 14.

eSports Betting Pick: New York Excelsior

Saturday, Aug. 3

  • L.A. Gladiators / San Francisco Shock

The Gladiators followed up their impressive 3-1 victory over Excelsior with a terrible 1-3 loss to the Houston Outlaws. San Francisco has won 3 in a row.

Not only has the Shock won 3 in a row, they’ve dominated. They beat Spitfire 4-0, and Seoul Dynasty 3-1 in a couple of a matches. But, the Gladiators can surprise here. They beat Toronto 4-0, and Washington 4-0 in June.

Los Angeles looks overmatched on paper. They’re worth a shot at what should be attractive odds.

eSports Betting Pick: L.A. Gladiators

Sunday, Aug. 4

  • Philadelphia Fusion / Toronto Defiant

Before their current 3 match losing streak, Philadelphia Fusion had won 4 in a row. Fusion has looked awful since Stage 4 started. They lost 2-3 in a couple of matches, to Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Defiant has been a mess, though. Toronto is on a 9 match winning streak. It’s only a matter of time before Fusion starts winning matches while Defiant’s woes could continue. Philadelphia should dominate on Sunday.

eSports Betting Pick: Philadelphia Fusion
