League Of Legends LPL April 9th Matches

Thursday, April 9 at 2:00 AM ET

  • LGD Gaming +450
  • Royal Never Give Up -833

LGD Gaming (3-7) has won two straight series and three of their last five overall including a hard-fought 2-1 win over Team We on April 2. LGD is an uninspiring 10-15 in 25 games this season. While support specialist Killua is having a solid season with a 4.62 KDA, none of his teammates have a KDA higher than Kramer’s 3.71 while five of his teammates own KDA’s of 2.5 or less.

Royal Never Give Up (7-4) had their three-series winning streak snapped in their narrow 2-1 loss against Invictus Gaming on April 5. Royal has gone 16-10 in 26 games this season. RNG is led by Betty, (Lu Yu-Hung) who is in the midst of a fine season. The Bot Laner has put together a team-high 6.22 KDA. While RNG’s other four players all have KDA’s between 3.48 and 4.74 while two of those players are averaging more deaths per game than kills.

Prediction

It truly doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that LGD Gaming is facing a tall task in trying to take down a Royal Never Gaming squad that would like nothing better than to keep stringing together some confidence-boosting victories right now. Yes, LGD is completely and utterly desperate as they sit in 15th place in the 17-team LPL, but the fact of the matter is that LGD simply doesn’t have the talent required to compete with the very best teams in the league. While Royal Never Gaming is tied for sixth place, they’ll be hungry to get the win – and I say they’ll get it!

League of Legends Pick: Royal Never Give Up 2-1

Thursday, April 9 at 5:00 AM ET

  • LNG Esports +235
  • EDward Gaming -333

LNG Esports has lost five straight series including a 2-0 shutout loss against Dominus Esports on April 1. EDward Gaming comes into this affair riding a two-series winning streak that includes a convincing 2-0 win over Dominus Esports on April 3. Not only is the last two results for these two rivals be a great indicator of what you should expect in this matchup, but there’s only one player on LNG’s roster (Maple) that has a KDA over 3.37. Conversely, Edward Gaming Bot Laner Hope has the best KDA (8.64) in the LPL this spring while teammates and Jiejie (jungler) and Scout (Mid Laner) both have stellar KDA’s of 5.89 and 5.62 respectively.

Prediction

One team (Edward Gaming) is looking to improve on their championship hopes while the other (LNG) is free-falling in the worst way and doesn’t seem to have a way out of the jungle, pardon the pun. There’s a reason EDward Gaming is a huge favorite here and it’s because they’ll avoid the upset to bring home the bacon!

League of Legends Pick: Edward Gaming 2-0
