G2 Esports vs Anonymo

  • When: Thursday, April 21 – 11:00 CEST

G2 Esports enter the PGL Major Antwerp EU RMR as one of the strongest teams in the region, and many expect them to crush it and secure their Legends Status with a perfect record. That might happen, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see G2 achieve it, but there are a few things we need to touch on.

Most notably, G2 Esports have not played an official match in over a month – since they won against Ninjas in Pyjamas at ESL Pro League Season 15, in which they finished in 17th-20th place. Moreover, we have seen G2 struggle quite a bit at the ESL Pro League, suggesting that they have yet to form the needed synergy to really live up to the expectations.

Admittedly, G2 had over a month to work on that, but they have yet to play a match since their early elimination from the ESL Pro League, meaning the team will likely be a bit ring rusty.

Anonymo are priced as +500 underdogs to defeat G2 Esports, which is fair, as we wouldn’t expect them to upset the European CS:GO juggernauts. But unlike G2, Anonymo have been active throughout April, so at least they will be warmed up and ready to do some damage.

Anonymo’s record over their last six games shows only one win (1-5), which isn’t great, and further confirms that they will have a mountain to climb against G2. Still, this is a Bo1 match, and we’re getting a +6.5 round handicap, which seems a bit high.

We don’t expect Anynomo to upset G2, but they should win at least ten rounds against the ring rusty titans.

Prediction: Anonymo +6.5 rounds

Team Spirit vs ENCE

  • When: Thursday, April 21 – 14:45 CEST

ENCE made quite a statement at the start of April when they made ESL Pro League Season 15 finals, marking their first major tournament final appearance since 2019.

There is no denying that ENCE were phenomenal, but the question is whether they can keep producing the same results and should their next opponents, Team Spirit, really be priced as +240 underdogs.

Team Spirit have not attended a CS:GO tournament since they won Malta Vibes Knockout Series #6 in February. Since then, the Russian squad appeared in two PGL Major Antwerp RMR open qualifiers, and while they fell flat in the first (fifth-eight), Spirit delivered in their second attempt and made it all the way to the finals.

There they lost against SINNERS Esports (14-16), which isn’t a good look for them, and it makes it hard to make a case for them to defeat ENCE. Still, that defeat marked only Spirit’s second across the last 14 outings.

ENCE is in a much better form and looks like a sure winner of this bout, but we have to remember that Spirit has a capable roster that won’t go down without a fight. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Spirit win the series, but we’re happy with the betting odds we’re getting on Team Spirit with a +4.5 round handicap.

Prediction: Team Spirit +4.5 rounds
