With a number of races still to be run in 2020, you hate to suggest that the season is all but over, but it really is beginning to look as though Lewis Hamilton is streaking towards another world championship. He has been dominant in F1 for years now, but what he is doing this season is really quite unbelievable. For bettors, the goal now is to try and find races where Hamilton might not be at his best. After all, some tracks are better suited to some drivers than others, but is really does seem as though the Brit can win wherever he goes. This weekend, the F1 machine moves to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix. It is, as you would expect, the usual list of suspects sitting among the favorites this weekend. Let’s take a closer look at some of those drivers, along with their Formula 1 odds.

F1 Gran Premio Heineken D’italia 2020 Betting Analysis

Lewis Hamilton (-240)

Last week, we spoke about the possibility of Hamilton perhaps not being the best bet. After all, he did not have a great history in Belgium, but he went out and proved that we should probably never doubt him, winning that one to nab his 5th victory of the season. Given how things have gone this season, it is tough to imagine him missing the podium, assuming that he can avoid penalties and vehicle troubles, the rest of the way. Hamilton has landed on the podium 6 straight times in Italy, including winning there in 4 of those years. He finished 3rd there last season.

Valtteri Bottas (+350)

For the other drivers in F1, it must be more than a little frustrating to be racing in the Lewis Hamilton era. He has made a habit of finishing behind Hamilton and has finished 2nd in the driver standings last season. He is in the #3 spot at the moment, but is in a very good run of form, landing on the podium in 4 straight races and in 6 of the 7 races. His best showing came in Austria in the first race of the season, which he won. He has been on the podium 3 straight times at the Italian Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen (+450)

The Dutchman looks like the driver with the best, albeit extremely slim, shot at running down Hamilton. He would have been closer in the standings were it not for the fact that he was forced to retire in the opening race of the season in Austria. Since then, he has had 6 straight podium finishes, which has him in 2nd in the driver standings. The Italian Grand Prix has not been good to him of late, though, with 5th being his best finish over the past 3 seasons.

Daniel Ricciardo (+2500)

While born in Australia, his Italian roots will have this race feeling like something of a homecoming for Ricciardo. He does need some help this season, though, as he is rather far adrift from the leaders at 8th in the driver standings. He was 4th in the Italian Grand Prix in 2019, but he does not have any podium finishes at all this season. Definitely a longshot.
