Formula 1 2021 Drivers & Constructors Championship Odds Update

Written by on January 14, 2021

The 2021 F1 season was shortened by COVID, but even if they had run more races, the end result likely would not have been any different. Lewis Hamilton won again in rather convincing style and will be looking to do so again this year, where we have a full 23-race schedule set to go. Included in this year’s events is a new grand prix in Saudi Arabia, which should be fun to watch. The new season begins in March, but we can still look ahead at the odds for both the driver and constructor series. Let’s do that now so you can continue planning your bets and place them against their Formula 1 odds.

F1 Drivers Championship odds / F1 Constructors Championship odds

2021 Drivers Championship Odds

  • Lewis Hamilton (-300)

As mentioned earlier, Lewis Hamilton won the driver championship going away, winning his 7th title in an outcome that never looked seriously in doubt. This season, he will be looking to win again and become the all-time leader in World Championship wins, as he is currently tied with Michal Schumacher for that distinction. Love him or hate him, you cannot deny that Hamilton is far and away the best in the business, which makes it very difficult to bet against him heading into 2021.

  • Valtteri Bottas (+400)

Bottas is the teammate to Hamilton in Mercedes, but he is playing second fiddle there right now. While consistently good, Bottas has had to settle for second place in the overall Formula 1 driver standings in each of the past two seasons. He is the ultimate team player, but you know he would love to nab a title of his own this season.

  • Max Verstappen (+400)

2020 was a strange kind of year for Verstappen, as he would almost certainly have finished ahead of Bottas in the final standings were it not for the fact that he was forced to retire in 5 different races. He was incredibly consistent when he did get to the finish line, landing on the podium in 11 out of 12 races. Might he be the real thereat to Hamilton?

2021 Constructors Championship Odds

Mercedes (-550) – If we are being honest, the constructor series is a 2-horse race, which is perhaps still being a little kind. Mercedes is the dominant force in F1 right now and will remain that way for as long as they have Lewis Hamilton on their team. Their other team member, Valtteri Bottas has, as we mentioned earlier, finished right behind Hamilton in each of the last 2 seasons.

Red Bull Racing (+300) – If any team has a shot at toppling Mercedes, it would be Red Bull Racing. They will have Max Verstappen in as their leader, and they have also added Sergio Perez, who picked up his first F1 win last season. Red Bull will be looking to get back to the 2010-2013 era, when they won 4 in a row.

Ferrari is on the board at +1100, but they, to be fair, look to be very much the longshot when you look at how far ahead Mercedes and Red Bull are at the moment.
