The new Formula 1 season is set to begin in March, with 23 races currently scheduled. As we saw last year, though, that calendar is subject to change, but the hope right now is that we can get an uninterrupted 2021 season. As we wait for the new season, there is still some uncertainty with Lewis Hamilton and his proposed contract extension with Mercedes. This has been an ongoing issue for a few months now, but it does appear as though we may see a deal delivered before the end of the month. Once Hamilton is back in the fold, we will truly be ready for another exciting season, but which races should we be looking out for in 2021? There are a lot of great races on the calendar, but let’s pick out a few that catch the eye so you can start planning ahead your bets and cash in against their Formula 1 odds.
Top Races of the 2021 Calendar | Formula 1 Betting
Bahrain Grand Prix – March 28
You can’t have a list of the top races of the year without including the season opener. The drivers will be at the Sakhir track in Bahrain for the first race of the season, with everyone looking to get a jump start on Hamilton in the race for the world title. Of course, topping Hamilton in the opening race of the season doesn’t really mean much, as we seen that happen last season, and we now all know how things turned out at the end of the year.
Monaco Grand Prix – May 23
In Formula 1, there is no race more iconic than the one that sees the drivers attempt to navigate the narrow streets of Monte Carlo. Drivers need to be at their very best in this race, with any passing attempt considered a risk. Fans hoping to attend an F1 race in person very often choose this as the weekend to make it happen. The location and the atmosphere is unlike anything on the Formula 1 calendar.
British Grand Prix – July 18
While the streets of Monte Carlo provided a fabulous setting for a race day, there is something about Silverstone that gets the heart racing. Last season was the 70th anniversary of Silverstone, with a special grand prix held to mark the occasion. The drivers will be back there again this year for another go at one of the best tracks in the sport. Lewis Hamilton will be looking to maintain his dominance on home soil with this race.
Saudi Arabian Grand Prix – Dec 5
This will be the first ever running of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, which makes it special in and of itself. Further adding to the excitement is that this will be another street race, and perhaps maybe the only one we see for this race. There are plans afoot to build a brand new track to host future races in Saudi Arabia, which means that this might be a bit of a one off in the making.
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – Dec 12
This is the final race of the season and one where we might well see history being made. Lewis Hamilton will be going for his 8th world title this season, which would put him ahead of Michael Schumacher and in the lead for the most championships ever. If he does win it again in 2021, he may well have it sown up before this race, but how cool would it be to see history made on the final day of the season?
