Formula 1 Monaco GP Betting Odds & Predictions

Written by on May 21, 2021

If you asked fans of motor sports about which one race they would love to attend in person, you could almost guarantee that the F1 Monaco Grand Prix would be at the top of the list. There is just something special about the setting and seeing high-powered race cars navigate the tight, twisting streets in Monaco. We are set for the next round of racing this coming weekend, and while teams and drivers are all playing up their chances of winning in Monaco, it is going to come down to individual skill and patience on one of the most challenging courses in the world. Let’s look at the favorites for the 2021 Monaco Grand Prix along with their Formula 1 odds.

Formula 1 Betting Analysis for the 2021 Grand Prix De Monaco

Max Vertsappen (+120)

Fans of Formula 1 probably fall into two distinct camps this season. On one hand, you will have those who will be watching and hoping that Lewis Hamilton makes history with another world championship. On the other, you will have the anyone but Hamilton camp, with many of those almost certainly rooting for Max Verstappen. The reality is that this season already looks like a two-horse race, with Verstappen the man most likely to derail the champ. Through the first 4 races of the season, he has a win and a trio of 2nd place finishes, yet still sits in 2nd in the Formula 1 driver standings. Monaco has not been a place where Vertsappen has done well, with 4th being his best finish.

Lewis Hamilton (+150)

After all the drama of the offseason contract talks with Mercedes, there were some who thought that Hamilton might not be as prepared as usual when coming into this season. Those thoughts have quickly been set aside, though, as he is setting a torrid pace once again. Hamilton has taken the checkered flag in 3 of the first 4 races this season, finishing 2nd in the lone race that he did not win. As far as Monaco foes, he has won 2 of the last 4 races there, which suggests that he might well be beatable this weekend. I’m not so sure I’d be brave enough to bet against him.

Charles Leclerc (+900)

If you have been following the lead up to the Monaco Grand Prix this week, you may have seen some suggest that Team Ferrari might be set to make a serious challenge on Sunday. That, as well as he fact that Monaco is home, may well explain why Leclerc is in as one of the favorites this weekend. He has not shown much in his previous runs in this race, but he has been consistent this season without yet landing on a podium. Leclerc has to be seen as a bit of a longshot, but certainly one worth taking a look at.

Valtteri Bottas (+1200)

We have spoken in the past about the thankless task that Bottas has in that he is the teammate of Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. He has essentially been forced to live in the shadow of the champion, but he has had a great run in F1 in his own right and is always up among the favorites in every race. He had a trio of podium finishes to his name this season, plus he has not finished worse than 5th at Monaco in the last 3 runs there. Bottas is another that cannot be ignored this weekend.
