For the previous 26 years, this event was referred to as the 3M Championship, and while it will still be played at the TPC Twin Cities course in Blaine, Minnesota, it will now be under the banner of the 3M Open. Whatever the name, it’s a great event with a very strong field coming out to play. With the British Open now just a couple of weeks away, this tournament will serve as a very nice warm-up for a lot of players before they head across to pond to play one more event prior to the major.
There is a very strong field set to take the course on Thursday, July 4, with the winner to be crowned this coming Sunday. Let’s take a closer look at some of the Golf Betting favorites for the 2019 3M Open and the $6.4 million purse.

The last few years have been a bit of a whirlwind for Kopeka, who now finds himself the #1 ranked player in the world. His career-best season came in 2018, with a pair of wins on the tour, a mark that he has already equaled this year, with one of those wins coming at the prestigious Players Championship.
After a second-place finish at the US Open, Koepka followed that up with a 57th place finish at the Travelers Championship, after which he admitted that he was feeling a little tired. He’s had a couple of weeks off since then and should be back as strong as ever for this event.
- 3M Open Odds to Win: +250
Matsuyama’s best year as a pro on the PGA Tour came in 2017 when he was able to finish on top of the leaderboard 3 times. He has yet to get there this season, with his best showing being a T3 at the Farmers Insurance Open. He does have 4 top 10 finishes to his name in the 2019 season, which has him sitting in the #31 spot in the FedEx Cup standings.
On the downside, he has only cracked the top 10 once in his last 8 tournaments, so it really is tough to see him suddenly breaking out and getting the win here.
- 3M Open Odds to Win: +2000
It has been a typically steady, if somewhat unspectacular, season for Day, who has yet to find his way to the top of the leaderboard in 2019. His best performance of the year was at the Master’s, where he finished tied for 5th, which means that he now has no less than 6 top 10 finishes on the season.
His inability to get a win this season makes him a bit of an iffy bet, but in this field, he certainly has a chance. He is definitely a player worth looking at for a top 5 finish here, but I think the victory will be out of his reach.
- 3M Open Odds to Win: +650
2018 proved to be a career year for DeChambeau, as he closed things out with 3 wins on the PGA Tour. He has a little bit of work to do to match that performance, although he does already have one win under his belt in 2019 with his victory at the Shriners Hospital for Children Open.
He went through a 3-event streak where he failed to make the cut, but since then he has slowly worked his way back into form, with his latest event ending in a top 10 finish. I think he is a very nice dark horse pick to win this one.
